Elisa paced around the pale pink room, eager yet apprehensive to start the ceremony. Was she really going through with this?
She looked at herself in the mirror, fiddling with the white veil on her head. It was a huge day, and she cursed herself for not feeling prepared. Weren't weddings supposed to be happy and worry-free?
Then she remembered Goliath. She eased up, thinking back to years past when they had been friends. He'd always been there for her – catching her as she fell and protecting her from enemies. He was her Big Guy, and he always would be.
And that kiss... finally, after waiting for so long, she admitted her love to him. He had been surprised, of course, but obviously happy with it.
She had been too. They'd been happy, together...
Elisa touched up her makeup before smiling grimly at her reflection.
"It's time," she said out loud before closing her eyes. "Goodbye, Goliath. You'll always have a place in my heart."
