Health Care

He hadn't quite meant for it to spin out of control the way it did. He was just trying to get out of a job he had no interest in doing. He did that all the time, however this time it really backfired. If only he had taken a couple minutes, an hour tops, to find some health care plan that might have actually been useful.

He didn't usually take to heart what happened at work, but he didn't like the feeling that he let his coworkers down. And when he says "coworkers" of course he really only means Pam.

The Fight

It had all started out fun and games. Just like it always did with them. Unfortunately somewhere, he missed the signal to cut it out. Was it when her shirt pulled up a little? Or when Meredith noticed? Or only when Pam realized that she was actually having fun? Most of the time Pam was really up for anything and he had to admit to himself that sometimes he forgot that she wasn't his to keep.

He just wants everyone to have a good laugh and enjoy themselves. And when he says "everyone" of course he really only means Pam.

Conflict Resolution

It had been bubbling up in him for some time. That feeling like he wanted to bust out of his own skin. Frustration? Anger? Resentment? Jealousy? Maybe it was all of those things at different times. He just knew that one day it had been too much to handle and that one moment he needed to vent. So, he went to Toby, not thinking of him as HR, but as his friend.

He's relieved when she forgives him so quickly. He really hates to have conflicts with people. And of course, when he says "people" he really only means Pam.

Initiation

In the car he couldn't stop thinking about the sound of her voice, her laugh, the way he could hear the smile in her tone. He could almost picture her cheeks tinting pink and her hand flicking her bangs off of her face. He regrets how abruptly they got off the phone and he regrets not telling her that he misses her more than anyone else in the whole world.

He hates when he has trouble saying what he really means. But if he had said "I miss you," what he really would have meant was "I still love you."

The Return

He never even considered that Karen might see all that was between him and Pam. Maybe it hadn't crossed his mind because, if Pam didn't see it, how could anyone else? It had always been so obvious to him, their rapport and chemistry, but he had convinced himself that he made it all up, that he was biased. He felt the old vibe all day, but didn't recognize it until Karen asked him if he still had feelings for her. And of course, when Karen says her, she really means Pam. And when he says yes, he really means always.
