The Deception By HPFangirl71
Harry watched her from the shadows, watched her crying and wished desperately to take away her tears. She was the prettiest girl he'd ever laid eyes on yet she was tragically heartbroken. Her love was now gone, never to return. He wasn't worthy to replace him within her heart. That's why he took the potion; in order to transform himself into the one she desired, the one she needed more than any other.
Cho looked up from her misery, watching him warily as he entered the room. She didn't understand how he'd begun coming to her amidst the shroud of nightfall but she was still grateful. She loved to look into those soft grey eyes of his as he spoke to her in that melodious tone of his. His gentle quiet nature was what had drawn her to him in the first place. It was why she loved Cedric with all her heart. It was also why she'd been so heartbroken over his untimely death yet here he stood before her as real as ever.
She thought at first that she was crazy with misery. Now she was convinced that it wasn't all a dream because these meetings with him seemed so real to her. Cho would let him hold her and kiss her during their nighttime rendezvous. Here, under the guise of being Cedric, Harry could hold her and be worthy of her love.
To Cho it mattered not if he were real or imagined; only that he held her and loved her once again. With his loving words, it was suddenly becoming easier for her to live without him constantly at her side. Their nocturnal love was what kept her from drowning in a sea of sorrow; it was finally helping her to heal. That's why Harry kept up this deceptive little charade, anything to heal her broken heart.
