Number Fifteen: Silence

----------

Lan pushed the door open quietly and slid through. Pushing it back closed, he walked around the mountain of boxes and toward the teen sitting behind the desk. "Chaud. . ." He said softly upon reaching the desk. Hesitantly, he moved around to the other side so he could stand next to the other. "I'm sor-"

"Be quiet Lan." Chaud's tone had a slight bite to it. "I don't need your sympathy." Chaud didn't look up as he spoke, just kept scribbling on the papers scattered in front of him. "If Protoman comes back, he does, if not, that he doesn't. Got it?" Finally dropping his pen he said edgily. "Now go rest up for your mission tomorrow."

Looking to the side, Lan bit his lip. Then, eyes moving back to the silver-haired teen, he reached out and lightly touched Chaud's shoulder. "You don't have toh-"

Chaud cut Lan off by whirling in his swivel chair, grabbing him by his waist and pulling Lan down into his lap. "Lan," Chaud leaned forward, whispering darkly into Lan's ear. "If you don't leave, now," Chaud paused to slide his hands to Lan's hips. "I may do something regrettable."

"Egh." Turning dark crimson Lan didn't fight the other, only placed his hands on the other chest and asked in a soft tone. "Will it make you feel better?"

Chaud jerked back and stared at Lan with wide eyes before anger took place over shock and he glared. Moving quickly, Chaud slammed his mouth against Lan's, not wanting to hear anymore.

Despite a few soft noises Lan didn't react, he let Chaud's grief runs it course. It always did eventually.

Hands pulled at the fabric covering Lan's chest and Lan obediently raised his arms and Chaud threw it off to the side.

Chaud's mind seemed to have turned off, because he simply wasn't thinking right now. Too much had happened lately, too much had gone wrong. It was too much for him to handle. He was only a child.

Lan arched against Chaud as fingers explored his body. He wasn't worth anything if he couldn't help the love he loved, right? Because if you can't help the one you love, how can you help yourself?

All they needed now was silence. Silence washed away all their worries. It made everything right again. If only for a moment.
