His fingers loosely wandered over her spine, fingertips brushing softly over the bones. The sheets were spread over her and one leg was having over the edge of the bed. Her curls spread on the pillow, eyes closed and a smile on her face. Rick glanced over his shoulder. A little after two. A sigh escaped from his mouth. Kate let out a soft hum and buried her face deeper into her pillow. They fell asleep spooning but somehow both of them ended up on each side of the bed. Far away from their significant other. His eyes started to get heavy and sleep pulled him in.

Soft lips brushed over his hair and he opened his eyes slowly. "Kate?", he mumbled and reached out with his right arm.
"Here I am", she whispered and grabbed his hand.
"Good morning", she whispered with a smile on her face.
Castle hummed in response. Kate giggled.
"What's so funny?", he replied and rubbed his eyes with his free hand.
"You look like a porcupine, your hair is sticking up in all directions"
Castle gruned and laughed.
"Castle, stop staring that's creepy", she mumbled after a while.
"Sorry", he whispered.
"You look like you want to tell me something"
"Indeed but I have a feeling you might think that I am a freak"
"You know me, Castle, I wont at least not now"
He leaned over and brushed his lips over her arm.
"Promise?"
She nodded.
"Pinky promise?"
She rolled her eyes with a smile before holding up her pinky.
"So I had this dream about I had a dream the other night, about how we only have one life"
Kate motioned him to continue.
"I'm not sure maybe I had too much wine"
"Are you kidding me?"
Castle looked at her with an eyebrow raised.
"You drank two glasses, normally you are still yourself then"
"Maybe it was the stress from our busy week?"
"Theories aren't going to help, spill the beans"
A smile creeped across his face, Kate always got really impatient when he was about to share his dreams with her.
"Well someone was chasing us down a street with a gun and we ran into a deadlock"
Kate's eyes got big.
"Since you were not on duty, you of course had no gun and neither did I"
"I realized we only have this life. We had nothing but us. Which means if we die and I am sure someday we will, I want to die with you. I couldn't stand the thought of losing you. I want to grow old with you and bite the dust. You got something I need. I can't live without you. I nearly lost you many times. I don't want to lose you again"
"I don't want to lose you either, Rick", she whispered and kissed him softly.
"Is that a yes?"
"No"
"No?"
"No, no, no, not not no"
"Yes?"
"Ugh"
"Not yes?"
"I told you it's not, not a not yes"
"You know how this works, right? There is either a yes or a no"
"I love you, Rick but it's highly unlikely that we die at the same time"
"I can still dream can I?`"
"Yes you can but for now, let's grow old together first"
"That sounds like a plan"
"A good plan"
Castle buried his nose into her hair.
"I love you, Kate"
Kate yawned and hummed.
"I love you too, writer boy"
Castle chuckled and kissed her head softly before falling back asleep. His plans were set. He has her forever.
