*SLASH* Hermione/Ginny fluff for Valentine's Day.[A/N]
A V-Day challenge put to the members of the SS Minds On Fire at FA P.____________________________________________
Ginny woke up to find someone learning over her, shaking her gently awake.
"Ginny! Wake up!" a voice whispered to her.
Still half asleep Ginny sat up. "Hermione, it's the middle of the night" she protested sleepily "I -"
"Sshh!" the other girl hissed. "We can't wake anyone else up." She smiled suggestively.
Realisation dawned on Ginny. "Let me guess… a Valentine's Day surprise?"
Hermione nodded in response.
"But where?" Ginny continues "Filch will catch us if we leave the dorms-"
Ginny's words trailed off as she noticed what Hermione had in her hand.
"Harry was kind enough to lend it to us for a night." Hermione held up the Invisibility Cloak. "Well, are you coming or not?"
Ginny climbed out of bed, pausing just to put on her dressing gown and slippers. Hermione swung the cloak around her shoulders and Ginny slipped under it with her. She felt light-headed with the anticipation of Hermione's surprise and the warmth and nearness of her girlfriend's body to her own as she led Ginny through the corridors until they reached the library. Hermione slid the Invisibility Cloak off their shoulders and handed it to Ginny.
"Wait here for a moment."
Ginny waited impatiently as Hermione rounded a stack of shelves and disappeared from sight. She could hear faint muttering from Hermione and her curiosity was doubled. When, after what seemed an eternity to Ginny, Hermione poked her head out from behind the shelves.
"Come and see your surprise!" she told Ginny with a mischievous grin.
When Ginny walked around the corner she found a wicker basket, stuffed with food atop of a large chequered picnic blanket on the floor. Tiny, white, flower-shaped candles hovered around the blanket illuminating it.
"Surprise!" Hermione beamed.
Ginny threw her arms around her girlfriend's neck "It's wonderful 'Mione!". Hermione lent into the hug and whispered in her ear "It's where we first kissed remember?"
"How could I forget?"
Hermione took Ginny's hand and led her over to the picnic blanket. Ginny sat down cross-legged and Hermione knelt across from her.
"There's fruit, sandwiches if you want one, pumpkin pie, sparkling cider and chocolate cake for dessert. Help yourself."
The two girls set to work unpacking the basket. Ginny poured two glasses of cider while Hermione laid out fresh strawberries and cream onto a plate for them to share. She dipped a large, ripe strawberry into the cream and lifted it up and pressed it to Ginny's lips. Ginny obediently ate it.
"Oops." Hermione muttered.
Ginny looked curiously at her. "What is it?"
"You have cream just there" Hermione replied, gently touching Ginny's lower lip with her finger.
Ginny leaned forwards. "We can't have that sort of thing happening because someone might find out hmmm?"
Hermione shook her head in mock indignation. "Of course not."
Closing her eyes she leant forwards and kissed Ginny, her tongue darting out to catch the smudge of cream. Pulling back Ginny repeated the process Hermione had, dipping one of the red fruits in cream then she fed it to her girlfriend. "Oops." Ginny giggled. She gently cupped Hermione's chin in her hand and pressed her lips to hers.
"Happy Valentine's Day 'Mione."
