Ok Ok I know this is the last one for now, but really how often do you get three one shots out of me in one day? Sorry to say my CSI NY friends this will be the last one for this fandom for a while. I do have others, lots but most of them are multi chapters and I am still working away on them, as well as My OTH ones and anyways hasn't anyone ever told you lot that good things come to those who wait :D
Adam Ross was in trace trying to decide if the woman beside him really was the devil incarnate. Or just annoying as hell; rolling his eyes as she answered a question Mac had asked him, it had been like this all day. And if Adam was honest he was starting to wonder what he was doing here it was obvious every one loved the new girl. Looking out into the lab Adam saw every one was busy every one but him. Yawning he looked over to his boss and the job stealing blonde; sighing he looked back out into the lab watching as the elevator doors open he wasn't really paying that much attention when he saw Lindsay walk out and turn around watching Danny walk out with crutches behind her. Not saying a word he got up and walked out heading over to his friends.
"Hey Danny your walking" he said coming up and standing next to Lindsay.
"Gee thanks for statin' the obvious Adam," muttered Danny it had come out harsh but the smirk on Danny's face let Adam knew he was only kidding.
"I found him standing with Lucy in her room last night. I'd gotten up to see what she was babbling about and saw his chair near the door." she said with a grin on her face, the same one she had when she finally had gotten a hold of her emotions last night.
"Bet you were crying"
"Yeah; but totally worth it" Adam laughed and smiled.
"I better get back to the job stealer and Mac, its great to see you walking again Messer" said Adam patting his friend on the back and heading back to his world of boredom.
Several hours later, Lindsay walked into the AV lab and found both Haylen and Adam.
"Hey Adam I need you to fix this for me our suspect wrecked it knowing we'd want It." she said holding up an old VHS tape.
"OH I'll do it" said Haylen stopping what she was doing and coming to take the tape Lindsay smirked as she saw Adam quietly mimic the young women and roll his eyes. She couldn't help but smile at the fact he was so jealous of all the attention she had been getting.
"Thanks Haylen but you can't work on two cases at once. Your helping with Mac's case right?" she asked Haylen nodded before sighing and walking out.
"You know as well as I do Linds that Lab techs can work over different cases." He said still looking rather bored.
"I know that, you know that but she doesn't yet. Besides you looked bored and I got the impression earlier you weren't too happy with her. If you can get that back to me ASAP that would be great. Oh and Adam your invited to dinner tonight at our place tonight Danny's on shift and I really don't like eating alone. Stell and Hawkes will be there too but your kryptonite will be cleaning up the crime scenes so see you at seven?" Lindsay asked smiling when he broke out into a grin and nodded.
"Thanks Linds"
"No problem; Adam remember no one could replace you. Try as they might there will only ever be one Adam Ross. Unless you have a child and do what Don's parents did and name your son Adam Ross jr." she said getting a laugh out of the geeky lab tech before she headed out to work on other things. Haylen might be the new girl and they all might have taken her under their wings to show her the ropes but none of them forgot about Adam. Well she didn't and wouldn't he had been there for her when she went into labor with Lucy and when she needed a shoulder to lean on with everything that happened with Rikki. He wasn't just a co-worker he was a close friend.
