Too Long
Severus paced impatiently on Platform 9 ¾ waiting and hoping to catch a glimpse of his best friend Lily.
It felt like he hadn't seen her in months, when in reality it had only been a few weeks since Mr and Mrs Evans had whisked their daughters away on a last minute holiday to Newcastle to visit some family members. Severus had no idea where it was but from what Lily had told him it was somewhere up in the north.
They had arranged to meet up when she got back yesterday, but as luck would have it the Evans family did not return until after 11pm and so Lily had been unable to come and see him; Severus knew this because he had been staking the house out for the entire day.
Severus saw a flash of long fiery red hair out of the corner of his eye come through the gateway to the platform, and knew that it could only belong to one girl, the girl he loved and cared for with every fibre of his being.
"LILY! I missed you so much," he cried running over to her and embracing her tightly, jovially spinning her around, and slyly inhaling the vanilla scent coming from her hair.
As Severus placed her back down on her feet, Lily laughed and expressed the same sentiment, whilst he admired how beautiful and angelic she looked in her brand new coral dress.
