Vanished

"Malfoy!"

Hermione Granger was angry. She had always hated this guy with passion and what he had done to Katie Bell was not acceptable. So she had followed him when he walked away and now she had found him in front of a mirror, his hands based on the sink. He would have to pay for this. She was considering what exactly she wanted to do when she looked into his blue eyes filled with fear. Draco Malfoy was staring at the image that the mirror reflected. Never had she seen something like this in the eyes of this person. She couldn't believe this was the same person that had always provoked her. She only knew a strong, self-convinced Draco Malfoy, not the person she could see in the mirror now. This unexpected weakness confused her and her wand went down.

"Leave me alone", Hermione heard the harsh voice of Draco Malfoy say.

But she didn't move. She didn't know why, but she just couldn't. It was like her feet were rooted in the ground.

"Leave me alone!", Draco repeated, now even louder than before.

Hermione stood still, not planning to move.

So now Draco moved. Angry he stepped forward in her direction. Even though Draco scared her, Hermione couldn't move. He brutally gripped her shoulders and shouted:

"What is your problem? Why can't you just disappear and leave me alone?"

His face was only a few centimeters away from hers now. She could feel his fast breath, saw his chest go up and down. She thought she could even smell the salt of the tears that decorated his pale cheeks. Her heart started beating faster. If Draco's heart was beating as fast as hers? Suddenly she felt the desire to reach out her hand and touch him. So her right hand moved until it made contact with his chest. He winced and turned around.

"What the hell", he said. "I told you to leave, so what are you waiting for."

"But what if I don't want to leave?" What was that? Why did she just say that? What was wrong with her?

"But I want you to leave."

"I don't believe you."

"I don't care."

"You do."

She approached him and saw that he was trembling.

"Draco…"

"What?", he screamed and turned around, his face twisted with pain. Fear, doubt, anger, horror, frailty. That's what Hermione saw in his eyes. Abandoning herself to an impulse she threw her arms around him. He tried to free himself, but there was no chance because Hermione just held him even more tightly, not willing to let go of him. His resistance decreased more and more and after banging his head against Hermione's shoulders, he stopped fighting and his tears started to fall again. He cried for a while and Hermione caressed his back, his neck, his hair. When there were no tears left to cry, Draco raised his head and looked into her beautiful, dark brown eyes.

Then she leaned in and started to kiss him softly.
