Slowly the minutes ticked by on the clock on the wall. Each tick seemed to intensify causing Sakura's patience to grow thin. She had been waiting all day for Lee to get back from his recent mission and this time it felt like he had been gone forever.
"Where is he?" she said aloud. She continued her pacing back and forth across the living room, sneaking peaks out of the window into the blackness of the night. She knew he would be returning from his mission tonight. Only she did not know what time he would arrive.
Suddenly she stopped dead in her pace. "What if he doesn't take the news well?"
"W-what if we're not ready?" she asked, panic in her voice.
Suddenly the front door opened and she could hear hurried footsteps walking through and closing it.
"L-lee-kun!" her voice still held a trace of her previous panic as she greeted him.
The sweet-smiling ninja sensed her panic and was at her side instantly.
"What's wrong Sakura-chan? Are you hurt? Not feeling well?" He placed his hand on her forehead to make sure.
She gently removed his hand away and placed it within her own. "No Lee I'm fine I just-"Suddenly the uneasiness she felt this morning returned to her stomach. She covered her mouth and ran to the bathroom.
"Sakura-chan!" Lee quickly followed her and watched as she emptied the remains of her afternoon lunch into the toilet.
"I thought you said you were fine-"he was suddenly cut off as Sakura weakly reached for the counter to pick herself up but slipped. Lee caught her and lifted her in his strong arms.
He brought her back to the living room and layed her down on the couch. He then got up to fetch her a wet cloth for her head when suddenly she grabbed his hand.
"N-no wait" she said weakly. He quickly was on his knees beside her.
"What is it Sakura? Do you need anything else? Do we need to see a doctor?" She could make out that he was beginning to panic. That was Lee, always panicking before he could get the straight facts.
"No Lee I just need to tell-"
"-tell Tsunade you can't go to the hospital tomorrow? Don't worry I'll tell her, I'll send a message right away"
"NO!" Sakura's voice had returned and she firmly gripped Lee back down to her level.
" Lee! I am not sick and I do not have to see a doctor, at least not now anyway." Lee gave her a confused look.
"Lee.." she suddenly became quiet and bowed her head.
"Yes Sakura?" He placed his hand to her cheek to lift up her face towards his.
"I-I'm p-pregnant", she whispered.
Lee realized it had been an entire minute since she had uttered those two words
"L-Lee?" Sakura asked examining his blank expression.
"A-are y-you s-sure?" he was able to utter.
"Y-yes, I took two tests today and they were both positive" she kept on examining his face expressions.
"Your going to be a father-" Suddenly she became engulfed in a flood of green.
"Oh Sakura! I cannot believe it!" he pulled away revealing teary eyes. "Were going to have a baby!!!" He practically yelled out his happiness.
Sakura suddenly felt her owns eyes tear as she nodded happily. She pulled Lee closer and they shared a passionate kiss.
"We have to tell people!" Lee said getting up quickly.
"B-but Lee! It's eleven o'clock at night! Everyone is bound to be asleep! And how do you expect to tell everyone right this second!" She got up off the couch quickly and caught him before he zipped out the door. He caught her in a hug and gave her another sweet kiss. "Don't worry love, I have a plan" And with that he disappeared into the night once again.
