The World Trembled

Spike was right. The world trembled at my feet once. Now I tremble, trapped in this human body.

Drogan asked me if I truly wished I had stayed in the well. If I didn't then, I do now. Fred would have remained alive, and she and Wesley would be happy.

Wesley. I think I loved him, and now I know. I know at least a fraction of the misery he felt when Fred was consumed to free me.

And I am sorry! Imagine it, a being such as myself, sorry. Sorrow, mourning, I know the meaning of these words on an intimate level. They bite and claw at me.

Tears are new. Each one a memory of my beloved. I don't like them, they are hot on my face. It's raining now, and I must go to Angel. All the wrath of the powers will be upon us. I look forward to carving revenge from my enemies flesh. For Wesley I will fight.
