"How about some fish and chips man! You used to love those, college changed you…" Travis' mind kept telling him to stop this nonsense but he knew that he had to get laid.
"Go home now and get some sleep, its way too late to have come to a club in the first place, We have to work tomorrow, actual grown up work at the stupid FBI!" But Travis knew deep down that he had to bring a girl home otherwise his brother will laugh in his face again.
He approached the girl slowly and felt a little unsure…well a lot unsure- "Hey, I am Travis, can I get you a drink?"
"Why? Do you work here?" She replied a little loftily but she did give him a cute smile.
"Depends, can I buy you a drink if I start working here?" Smooth, tell the girl you like her that will work. Travis had always admired his own wit and quick thinking.
Apparently this was a bad answer cause her small smile turned into a deep frown as she said "No, I can pay for my drinks, thank you."
"Well are you…sure?" Okay Abort mission! BAD REPLY, his confidence was spiralling down again as he pushed through, seriously questioning a girls finances has never gotten anyone laid. Otherwise accountants everywhere would be rolling around with babes. Technically his accountant was rolling around with girls so…okay focus, focus man that's why we don't talk to women!
"Just leave I am waiting for somebody."
"Is he your husband or the love of your life?" he tried to turn on his charm button.
"I mean you could just give me another chance." God help me, I promise to attend church for the next two weeks.
At this she smirked at him, "Fine then, get me a Vodka Tonic" And so began the stream of small talk that Katie and Travis would have through the night as they both decided to chase their friends away and spend the night together.
Travis gave his brother a smug smile the next morning: "Up yours Connor" he mouthed as the black haired beauty made him bacon and eggs.
Work was difficult for the next two days- "Join the FBI they said, you will drown in woman they said"- well that promise seemed to be working out well when Travis and Katie met for their first date on the Friday after work in a seafood restaurant, man Percy would be pissed when he told him about the seafood on Monday… oh well Katie seemed to be worth it!
He even took her to church for the next two sundays, something they both quickly disliked…
