It had been only a few hours and his eye was already bruised black. Isaac gently pressed his fingertips into the bruise while he was digging Kate Argent's grave. It was all panicked searching until he fell into the grave and the backhoe fell on top. He pressed his back into the dirt corner and he felt safer down there, until the backhoe was lifted off. He could feel his heart pounding in his ears and he felt like he had to swallow to force his stomach out of his throat. When something jumped down into the grave and rushed him he flinched back instinctually covering his face. When nothing happened he very slowly uncovered his face to look. Derek Hale was standing there full werewolf. Isaac stared into those red eyes and couldn't move. Derek turned away and almost left until he smelt something on Isaac. He knelt down in front of him, Isaac instantly put his head down and tried to make himself even smaller. Derek knew the scent, sweet and vaguely sour, it was the smell of bruises. He leaned in closer to get a better sense of how hurt Isaac really was. Isaac bent his head down lower and held tight to his chest which only made scent come off of him more.
"Whats your name?" When Isaac slowly looked up Derek was in human form.
"I-Isaac... What are you?" Derek smiled softly before grabbing him around the neck and standing him up.
"You have to answer my questions before I tell you anything." Isaac flinched away from Derek's hand as it slowly stroked the side of his face. "What happened to you Isaac? Who did this to you?" Isaac clenched his jaw shut tight. Derek squeezed his neck tighter.
"Why do you care? Just let me go." Isaac struggled to get away but Derek just pushed him to the ground. He placed his knee on the back of Isaac's thigh to hold him down and quickly lifted his shirt. Isaac's shoulders were bruised all the way across, his ribs covered in saucer bruises, and his back laced with belt bruises. Isaac desperately tried to pull his shirt down so Derek let him go.
"Isaac tell me who did this to you and I can offer you a gift. You won't ever have to feel this again. I can make you strong and able to heal yourself. You'll be with me, part of my pack and I'll protect you." Isaac slowly stood back up.
"Why? Why would you do that for me?" Derek slowly backed Isaac into the dirt wall.
"Because you don't deserve this." Isaac's heart was thrashing in his chest and he was so confused. How was this real? "I'll be honest, being like me isn't going to fix all of your problems. On the full moon you'll be bloodthirsty, and there are hunters. I can teach you to control it though. I have a plan for the hunters too."
Derek backed off a little, giving Isaac room to breathe, before reaching for his neck a second time. Isaac smacked his hand away with more force than Derek had expected, so he laughed softly after grabbing his arms with more force than necessary. "Aren't you tired of feeling afraid? I can't say you wont be hurt but it wont last for weeks like this." Derek let go after running a hand over Isaac's wounded chest. Isaac was trembling but he wasn't flinching anymore.
"It was my dad." The words were barely a whisper but Derek heard him just fine. Derek moved in closer and he put his arms out to push him away. Derek breathed in Isaac's sweet smell at his neck. "Wait..I."
"Relax it wont last remember?" Derek pulled his shirt off of his shoulder and bit into that sweet tender flesh. Isaac gasped and grabbed onto Derek in pain. When Derek let go he couldn't help but lick the blood off of Isaac's shoulder. He then jumped both of them out of the grave. "I'll be back when you need me." Derek let go of Isaac and disappeared.
