"Dad! You haven't told me a bedtime story yet!" Hugo roared through the house.
Ron slowly turned in the stairs and sighed with a smile. He walked in to his son's bedroom and sat on the bed.
"What do you wanna hear tonight, my little blighter?" Ron said and stroked Hugo's red and bushy hair.
"Tell me something exciting from your years at Hogwarts!" Hugo said and his eyes were glistening.
"Let me thinkā¦" Ron said.
Ron had already told his son loads of adventures from his and Harry's years at Hogwarts. It was hard to decide which adventure he should tell him now. And like a bolt from a clear sky, he knew what to tell. Something that was, probably the best thing that ever happened to him.
"OK, I've got one here. When I and Harry started at Hogwarts we met a girl. She was a real nightmare. Always correcting you and she behaved like she knew everything in the world. One time when we first were allowed to try the levitation spell 'Wingardium Leviosa', she was just like 'It's LeviOOsa not LeviosAA'. Sometimes I just wanted to kick her ass." Ron said and laughed at the memory.
"What did you do with her? Did you kick her?" said Hugo and smiled keenly.
"Actually, it's a very interesting story Hugo. You see, after a while on Halloween, there was a troll who sneaked in to the dungeons. And this girl was on a bathroom very near the dungeons, so Harry said we should go and warn her. So we did, but when we came to the bathroom the troll was there. But luckily we saved her and we became friends after that. Though, she was still a nightmare. We argued very much."
"So why did you still hang out with her?" Hugo looked confused.
"I don't know son. But I'm happy I didn't stop"
"How could you be happy, hanging out with a nightmare?" Hugo looked even more confused. He sat straight up in his bed and stared at his father like he was an alien.
"Because, this horrible nightmare turned out to be the girl of my dreams, so I simply married her."
"You mean, mum was a nightmare?" Hugo roared and his jaw dropped.
Suddenly, father and son could hear steps in the stairs. It came closer and the door flung open.
"Ron! Why does our son scream that I'm a nightmare?" said Hermione. She looked furious and her eyes glowed angrily. Ron's head went red and he looked down.
"Because, dear." said Ron and gulped. "Hugo wanted to hear a bedtime story"
"So you told him that I'm a nightmare?" she almost screamed and she put her hands on her hips.
"No, or yes. I just told him how we met. You know I didn't like you at first. But then I told him you're the girl of my dreams"
"Oh, you did?" Hermione said very surprised but calmly.
She went to the bed and sat down. Then she hugged him like never before.
"Eww, what are you doing? Dad, you're getting girl bacilli!" said Hugo and looked at them with a face of disgust. But then he joined the hug. After a few minutes, Hermione looked at her watch.
"Oh lord! It's very late Hugo. You should have been asleep for a quarter ago. Time to lay down again." She said and kissed him on his forehead.
"Mum! Stop it. I'm getting bacilli!" Hugo shouted and pushed her away.
"As you want. Goodnight honey." she said and went to the door together with Ron.
"Goodnight mum! Goodnight dad!" he replied before the door was closed.
