Confessions of Mr. Potter

Lily Evans.

The joy of my life. The reason for my living. I could gaze at her lovely, bright emerald eyes all day and not get tired. I could sit with a stupid smile on my face watching her fiery red hair sway to and fro.

One day we'll get married, and have a kid who looks exactly like me. I'll name him James, of course, but my Lily dearest will object and want to name him Jamie. I don't mind. Nope. But if it's a girl, we'll name her Jamesita.

Peter calls me insane.

Remus calls me insane.

Sirius just calls me "…pathetic, Prongs, pathetic…"

Yeah, I don't care.

But I think first I should get her to like me.

Why does she hate me? It's not like I did anything to her. But as Sirius always says, "Girls' minds work differently than ours, Prongs, old lad. Beware." She always seems so angry with me. I mean, whenever I even glance in her direction, her cheeks turn this lovely pinkish color and she yells, "Sod off, Potter!" in a musical tone that makes my heart go all weird.

I've got it bad.

No, beyond bad. Sometimes I even scare myself with my insaneness.

I really have no clue what to do. I want her to like me back, even to maybe just be friends with me, but every time I approach her she curses me into oblivion.

Remus said that I should probably call her Lily instead of Evans, for a start.

I thought girls liked being called by their last name.

Shows how dysfunctional my mind is.

Sigh.

I do care for Evans—I mean Lily. I would never want to see her get hurt. Or anything like that.

I just want to be with her.

Forever.

As of now, though, she pretty much hates my guts.

I'll think of something. Eventually.

And when I do, she won't hate me, she'll love me. Just like I love her.
