After watching Halibel's episode in English Dub, this little drabble popped up in my head.
…Enjoy.
No world is without sacrifices…
Halibel clutched her abdomen in an attempt to stem the blood flow as she forced herself to focus on Aizen. She just couldn't wrap her mind around the fact that he had just inflicted the wound on her without a single moment of hesitation. As if he was done with her. But why would he do something like that?
Doesn't he realize this?
As he explained his reasoning, her blood began to boil. She angrily spat out his name, thrusting her sword forward and stabbing him in the chest. But she hadn't anticipated Aizen to use his Kyōka Suigetsu. Her shoulder erupted in agonizing pain as she saw the head of his sword right next to her face. Her vision blurred as she glanced behind towards Aizen. She gritted her teeth as he told her that she would never raise her sword against him again. He pulled his sword downwards and pulled it out as blood erupted from her wounds.
This sea of blood
As her vision became mixed with black spots, she noticed how her 3 opponents stared at her in shock. Was Aizen like this for you…? Was he a traitor to you all…as well? she wondered. She never knew the full backstory behind the man known as Aizen and how he came to be standing above them. But from their animosity, he must have done something horrible to them as well.
Covered in ashes
She began her slow descent as her mind wandered over her three Fracción, Apache, Sun-sun, and Mila Rose. How their quartet stayed together through thick and thin, even when she had told them to escape from that encounter against the shark Arrancar. She had always appreciated the thought that they would be there to protect her from anything that may befall on her. She only wished that she could have had another chance to repay them for all they have done.
We refer to this hell…
Reflecting on that, she came to a realization as the ground rapidly rushed towards her face. If she had refused Aizen…perhaps, she wouldn't be here right now. Maybe she wouldn't be falling right now. Maybe her and her Fracción wouldn't be left for dead right now. But then again, she wouldn't have been able to improve her abilities to prevent more unnecessary sacrifices. If it weren't for Aizen, the four of them probably would have died to the Arrancar. But at the same time, she was still shocked that Aizen, her savior, had chosen to do this to her. Her eyes slowly closed before she could feel the brunt of the collision.
As the world…
Smoke rose as the ground nearest to Halibel shook. Through slitted eyes, she looked upwards at Aizen as the Shinigami prepared to engage him. Her breathing slowed as her eyes began to dull.
No world is without sacrifices…
Yes I know Halibel is still alive, but it's more dramatic to make it seem like she's near death of course. This just came out of the blue for me after I watched the English Dub version for that episode for Halibel. Just saying, the last line in Italics is ONLY a repeat. The last words she said before she fell was "As the world." I chose to reiterate it for the sake of drama and such :P Please review (= And if I start thinking more...we might see a few more drabbles for Halibel ;)
