It Means More Than That
Genesis loves it when Sephiroth lets him comb his hair.
He sits behind the man, running a brush through long strands of spun silver, each stroke gentle and measured as if he is afraid of damaging any of it. Sephiroth just releases a low chuckle and leans his head back against Genesis' thigh, because he can feel how he treats his hair with such reverence, feel the way the man's knees tighten their grip on his ribs whenever the brush comes in contact with tangles. Occasionally Genesis will lean down and press a quick kiss to Sephiroth's temple, murmuring a few sweet words into his ear before returning to the task at hand.
On the rare occasion when Sephiroth is in an especially good mood, he'll let the other First run his fingers through his hair, braid it and then undo it just to do the same thing all over again. All the while Genesis never leaves his spot on the couch, cradling Sephiroth's torso between his legs as the man relaxes on the carpet in front of him, sometimes for hours on end.
When Genesis is finished Sephiroth looks up at him and locks his gaze with pretty (oh so pretty) azure eyes, squeezing the redhead's knee affectionately as he offers what Genesis knows to be a small smile and says "thank you".
And they both know what it is he's really thanking him for.
