Le gasp, I actually wrote something! It's been awhile XD;;

It had been after a heist, that Kaito had decided to pay a visit to the Kudo Manor. The Detective of the East himself had been absent that night.

The phantom thief landed on his window sill and picked the lock with ease. He opened the window and slipped into the large library.

There weren't any cases to solve, he even called Division One ahead of time to make sure. He confirmed with Ran that the detective had no prior plans for today either. There shouldn't have been any reason for him to have been absent during the heist. The detective was probably sitting in the library.

"How dare he ditch me for books.." The thief muttered as he silently closed the window behind him looking around for the detective.

He paused, noticing that something was very wrong. The chair he normally sat on was on its side on the floor accompanied by a couple books scattered around. There were also a couple books on the desk scattered messily.

Shinichi would never leave his books like that. The thief lifted the books by their spines and placed them back down properly, so as not to ruin the pages.

He took a couple steps into the room, and froze when he saw a few drops of blood on the floor. The blood hadn't been visible from his spot by the window earlier, and he was starting to worry.

Before he could search the rest of the house for the missing detective, a figure appeared in the doorway. Kaito's breath caught at the sight of the Detective of the East standing in the doorway.

Shinichi gave him a weak smile, clutching his stomach, where his wound was. The blood seeped through his blue uniform, staining it a dark red. "Kaito.. Sorry I couldn't attend your heist.."

In only a few short seconds, Kaito was at his side. "You idiot.." the thief said, helping him move to sit in another chair in the large library. "That's unimportant. What matters now is that I bandage your wounds."

Shinichi winced a bit as he was seated. "The first aid kit is.. in the lower left drawer.. of the desk..."

With one more look over the detective, Kaito rushed over to the desk and grabbed the first aid kit, coming back to kneel in front of him.

Wasting no time, he opened the kit and began looking for the bandages. Finding them without much difficulty, he took out the roll of white material. He paused as there was a clinking sound against the floor.

"..." The thief stared at the object that had made the sound. "...Is that a ring?" he asked a bit incredulously. Maybe it had belonged to his mother, or whoever last used the kit..

While his attention was on the ring, the detective moved out of the chair and kneeled beside the thief. His attention immediate flew back to the detective, and he opened his mouth to protest. "You shouldn't-"

"Kaito," Shinichi interrupted Kaito before he could finish his sentence, "I'm fine." He gave the thief a warm smile, picking up the ring.

"Will you marry me?" He asked, holding his hand gently in his and smiling brightly.

Caught off guard by the sudden question, Kaito was speechless. Then he noticed that Shinichi no longer seemed to be in pain.

It clicked in his head. The detective had been faking it!

"Well?" The detective continued smiling obliviously. Kaito glared at him.

A slapping sound echoed through the library as Kaito stormed off in an angry huff, leaving Shinichi there with a red hand print on his cheek.

Heiji poked his head into the library, finding his friend on the floor, ring in hand. "I told you it was a bad idea," the Detective of the West shook his head.

Shinichi looked away, bringing a hand up to his injured cheek. "Shut up Hattori."

A/N: Was based on a Cyanide and Happiness comic. I read it, and Shinichi and Kaito immediately came to mind XD
