My hands shook as I placed my hands on the brass doorknob. My hair was pulled up with tiny pieces of hair hung down in loose curls. A barrette was placed right snug on the back of my head. Holding my hair into place. Which I inherited from my mom, who got it from her mother, and so on. some aqua-marine stones where added a few weeks ago. The same stone as my birth stone.

I had very little makeup on, which I found weird seeing as how big today was. The lady who did it told me I didn't need makeup. I was beautiful without it. I traced my cheeks with my finger tips. Slowly trailing them down my neck, feeling the soft smooth skin below.

"You ready, my dear?"

My head snapped to see a woman standing in the doorway. I bit my lip, looking down. I didn't have my dress on, only the bath robe. My makeup needed to be freshened up. And I looked terrified. I might need a moment.

"Oh dear.." She mumbled. Softly closing the door, she made her way over to me. Gently guiding me over to the mirror. She stood behind me, and placed her hands on my shoulder. "I was in the same situation when I was your age." She sighed, remembering her with her hair and makeup all done up. "I was petrified. Scared I would say something stupid, or trip and fall." She shook her head, black hair falling off her shoulders. "But then I saw him standing, in his nice robes, and everything was alright. All my fears were gone. None of them mattered. Now, most of them seem silly. So, how about we get you out of this bath robe, and into your beautiful dress?"

I small smile spread across my face. I walked to the closet and pulled out the dress from behind the door. I placed it on the bed, and pulled of my robe. Standing in my skin colour underwear, in front of a woman I've known from my whole life, I looked at her. Totally lost in what to do, or how to start. She smiled, and unzipped the bag, which carried my dress.

She pulled it out and took it off the hanger. Unzipping it, she looked at me. A warm smile placed on her face. She bent down, letting me step into the white dress. Slowly pulling it up and zipping up the back, she turned me around.

The dress fit me perfectly. With a heart shaped neckline and a criss-cross neckline just under the bust, it flowed from the waist to the ground, forming into a beautiful trail. I had a silver necklace was placed on my neck, a heart shaped locket opened up to the picture of the him.

"Beautiful." She whispered. She handed me my high heeled shoes, letting me hold onto her shoulders as I slipped them on. Just as I was letting go of her, there was a knock at the door. A head peaked through the crack in the door. My father smiled as he took all of me in. Shuffling into the room, he adjusted his robes.

"You look.. Stunning." He said, pulling me into a hug. "Your mother would be so proud." I swallowed a lump in my throat. Just thinking about her made me upset. It seemed like I could only talk about her to one person. And he wasn't in this room. "You ready?"

I was. I am. I'm ready to get married to the most amazing man in the world. I am.

We walked down the stairs. Me gripping onto my dad's arm. Doing my best trying to not fall. We got two twin doors. I gripped my dad's arm and looked ahead. "Don't let me fall Daddy." I whispered. He squeezed my arm, right as the doors opened.

And just like she said, once I saw him, all thoughts disappeared. All that was important was him. The man who would be spending to rest of my life with. My soon to be husband. My Draco.
