Nightmare

Summary: A nightmare truly can frighten you. Luckily, a certain good-hearted rabbit helps a friend in need.
She was their target. She couldn't change that. Why did they want her so much? What did she ever do to them? She did nothing to them, yet they want to track her down and kill her.
"Please," The troubled seedrian moaned out in her sleep. "Leave me alone. . ." She begged in a hushed tone. In her bed, she kept tossing and turning uncontrollably. She kicked off her blue bed covers and began to run. Well, in her dream, or nightmare I should say, she was. Suddenly, Cosmo screamed out and jolted up, clearly awake now. Cosmo began to breath heavily, her chest was heaving, and cold sweat has formed on her forehead. Eventually, she calmed herself down and Cosmo then realized it was just a nightmare.
Cosmo was going to go back to sleep, but she then heard her bedroom door open. Cosmo's eyes widened as she saw a small, dark form entering her room. The frightened seedrian was about to scream out, but the light immediately switched on. The light revealed a concerned cream-colored rabbit. She wore a pink nightgown and a pair of matching pink bunny slippers.
"Cosmo?" The young rabbit's voice was filled with worry and concern. "Are you okay?" Cosmo gave her a blank stare before answering.
"Yeah, I'm fine," She told her, this answer seemed to calm down Cream. "Why?" Cream frowned before walking to Cosmo's bed.
"I heard you scream," The concerned, young rabbit answered. "Are you sure you're alright, Cosmo?"
"Well...I just had a nightmare, but I'm okay now, I think." She wasn't one hundred percent okay, she was still a little frightened. Cream stared at Cosmo in interest before leaping on her bed.
"Please, tell me about the nightmare you had Cosmo," Cream asked, curiously.
"Well," Cosmo gulped; she didn't want to scare Cream...or even herself if she told her nightmare. "Well," She repeated, "I...dreamt about the Meterex finding me. I ran down a dark, long hall...for some reason. The hall never seemed to end, so I just kept running. Somehow, the Meterex caught up with me...then they captured me."
"Then what happened?" Cream asked, her eyes widening. She almost seemed interested instead of concerned now.
"I woke up," Cosmo answered.
"Oh. . ."
"But...I'm afraid, afraid that the Meterex will eventually find me, then take me," The terrified seedrian explained.
"Cosmo," Cream said softly, a small smile forming on her face. Cosmo had to wonder why she was smiling. "The Meterex may find you, but we'll never let them take you away."
"You won't?" Cosmo asked, slowly recovering from her fear.
"Of course not!" The young rabbit chirped, "Sonic, Tails, Amy, Knuckles and I won't allow it." A soft smile appeared on Cosmo's face.
"Thank you Cream, that means a lot to me."
Cream smiled, "You're welcome, Cosmo!" The green seedrian sighed and put her head back on the fluffy, white pillow. Thanks to Cream, Cosmo could now sleep in peace, knowing that was protected by her loyal, loving friends, especially Cream.
