Prologue
Whoosh. Ben sat on the ground, swishing his toy spaceship in the air.
"Luke, he has showed no signs of being Force Sensitive," Leia looked at her brother who was sitting across from her. "Do you think," she mumbled. "Do you think he isn't?"
It was her and Han's hope that he wasn't, ever since they found out she was pregnant. There's many risks of being sensitive. They just wanted their child to live a normal life (as normal as it can be with the family he has.) She could only hope.
Luke fidgeted with his hands. He looked down at Ben, three, and concentrated on his Force Signature, or really lack of. "I don't know, Leia," he looked back up. "There's a chance he is and a chance he isn't." Leia looked at him expectantly, hoping he had to say something else.
"Isn't there anything you could do to know for sure?"
"We could always test his midichlorian count."
Just then, Han walked in, grease covering his hands. "Midi-who-what count, what the hell is that?"
"Midichlorian count. It shows if someone is connected to the Force, and how much." Luke answered him.
"And who are you planning on testing, sweetheart?" Han came up behind Leia, wiping off his greasy hands on a rag.
"Our son."
"Oh," Han then looked over at Luke. "So kid, how's the academy? Got any 'heroes with no fear' yet?"
"A couple, of course. Some really cocky ones, like you, but we'll get it out of them." Leia chuckled. "And how's the Falcon doing?"
Han sighed, "The hyperdrive's been acting up again. Dunno how to fix to goddamned thing."
"Maybe you should try to bypass the compressor,"
"Kiddo, you don't think I've tried that already? Nothing works," he sighed again.
Luke looked at his chronometer. "Well, I better be getting back to the academy. Let me know when you want to test Ben's midichlorian count."
"Goodbye Luke," Leia replied. "And may the Force be with you."
"May the Force be with you," Luke he up from his chair and bent down next to Ben. "Bye Ben." Luke ruffled his hair.
"Goodbye Uncle Luke."
