No One Beats Seto Kaiba

The alarm went off. Loud, short, shrill beeps filled the dark room, echoing off the walls. The quick beeps of the alarm clock picked up speed when the alarm clock failed to be turned off.

A single hand clutched in a tight fist slammed down the blue 'snooze' button. The blue button gave of a low click as it was forced down. Small, computer, perfect z's appeared under the digital clock numbers. Seto Kaiba rolled onto his side away from the alarm clock trying to fall back to sleep.

Trying to escape his failure.

His long, slim fingers wrapped around the edge of the pillow case. Watery sweat from his hand soaked through the fabric and his knuckles turned a paler white. White bed sheets clung to his slender body as he rolled over on his stomach.

The alarm went off again.

And this time he did get up. Mechanically he turned the alarm off placing it back on the smooth wooden bedside table without even looking at the time. His head sunk into his hands and he glared at the empty cream colored wall in front of him.

"My next card is…Exodia the Forbidden One…! Exodia AWAKEN! Attack now, rage inferno!"

"M…My Blues-Eyes White Dragons…!"

"Your Blue-Eyes White Dragons were powerful… But even weak cards can join together sometimes, and together, they can create an infinite power which can defeat the enemy!"

"Uh…uh…"

"It's over Kaiba! I win!"

How was it that he could have lost? Him-Seto Kaiba-world champion of Magic and Wizards lost to a heart of the card loving rookie. Unheard of. He had been clearly dominating the match. All three Blue-Eyes White Dragons had been out on the field. And then…

Yugi Mutou had somehow managed to draw Exodia from his deck.

It didn't make sense. He should have won. There was no way that…

"It's over Kaiba I win!"

"Damn." Kaiba let the word roll of his tongue.

He needed a rematch. He needed to face Yugi again. He needed to win. After all no one beat Seto Kaiba.
