"Hmph." Guts loathed the days he had to be on watch duty. It was always on a Tuesday that he was assigned this very tedious and time-consuming job. He was already dragging his limp body by sheer willpower over to Griffith's office. This was the last thing he wanted to do.

Griffith was simply sitting there drinking his black coffee. He was absorbed in a map, which very well could have been to plan out strategy. He looked up from it because he figured the only one who would come to his office this early is Guts. He chuckled,

"So, you ready for your day off?"

"What the hell are you talking about? It's GUARD duty today. Someone has to defend Midland."

Griffith was giddy with enjoyment. You could tell that he wanted to do this for a long time. Guts is, after all, a very hard worker. He deserves at least one day off to himself.

"I'll just make Rickert or Pippin do it. Go on, bask in the sun. It's beautiful today...*just like youuu~*"

"Huh? What was that last part"

"Hehe, just pretend I was talking to myself."

Guts didn't even know what to do with himself. His whole life revolved around fighting and his sword. Certainly, following orders isn't a big deal...but when it has to do with relaxing...well...Guts had trouble understanding how to achieve that. He decided to go to the bar and have a c o l d one.

As Guts opened the door, all eyes were on him. The clank of his armour echoed through the thin wood and empty glasses. It was a sight to see since he rarely went to the bar alone. He sat down at the nearest stool and stared the bartender right in the eye. The bartender sweated a bit but seemed ready to take his order. Guts knew the man well.

"W-what would you like Guts-san?"

Guts took off his heavy hand armour and snapped his fingers as to enunciate his statement,

"I would just like a coors light, thanks."

"Oh...that's it?...

"Yup, take your time I got the whole day off."

The bartender fetched his drink request. The beer was room temperature. He told Guts that their refrigerator was broken temporarily. Guts smirked,

"Hey, it's alright. I'm just looking for a thirst quencher. Doesn't matter to me whether I get it like this, warmer, or like a frozen tundra."

"Heh, I think you need more days off. You seem...at ease."

Guts took a swig of his drink. It had no problems going down his gullet. He slammed the drink down and gave a salute to the man. He was outside yet again.
