Chap 1: The Love They Share
Marie and Remy were sitting on his porch swing. When Jean-Luc came out of the house. "Boy, I need to talk to you." Jean-Luc said. "What pere?" Remy said looking at his father while still holding Marie. "In private." Jean-Luc said in a hushed whisper. "I'll be right back, Marie." Remy said letting her sit up as he stood to walk inside. "Okay sugah." Marie said.
5 minutes later
Remy came out of the house his eyes glowing furiously bright red. "What's a matter, sugah?" Marie said a little frightened. "I have to marry …… Bella." Remy said saddened. "What!" Marie said with tears in her eyes. "Oh, chere don't cry." Remy said pulling her into his arms and letting her cry into his shoulder. As soon as he felt her stop crying he looked at her, she had mascara all down her cheeks. " Chere, I need to leave." He said and then continued. "Remy loves you and he wants you never to forget that." Remy looked at her and then kissed her. Marie looked up and said, "Promise me something, Remy." "Whatever you ask." Remy said in his thick Cajun accent. "That you come back for me." Marie said as she took off her families ring and pressed it into his hand. "I want you to have this because some day I'm gonna come looking for it." Marie said with a smirk. She stood up before he could say another word and jumped off the porch where she landed in a crouch. She stood and began to walk away. She turned and said with tears in her eyes. "You better leave before I find away to stop you." And then she ran into the forest and disappeared. His life had always been about her. He ran to his room and packed his things. When he was packed, he waited for everyone to go to bed. He climbed down the balcony to see Marie by his bike. He smiled. He walked towards his bike and grabbed Marie. "What are you doing here, Chere?" Remy said. "Thought I'd make sure you be leavin' town." Marie said. "Remy be goin' to New York, Remy call you when I find time." Remy said. "I be waiting for you." Marie said. Remy stepped on to his bike and started the engine. Marie slid across him on the bike and kissed him on his neck. "God Marie, I need to go." Remy said. "I can't leave without saying good-bye." Marie said. She gently slid off of him and began to walk away with tears in her eyes. He grabbed her arm and pulled her against him. "I love you, my Marie." Remy said. Then she stepped away with one fleeting kiss he was gone into the night.
