[Lucy POV]
"How many times to I have to tell you to knock before you come inside?" I yelled at Natsu. "Sorry," he mumbled, picking up the shampoo bottle I threw at him. "Do you need this?" He absentmindedly handed me a towel. "EEEK! GET OUT OF MY HOUSE!"
Natsu grinned. "Can't." I crossed my arms, frowning at him. "Why is that, Mister Sassy-Pants?" He pointed out my window. I peered out over the edge and saw snow blanketing the ground. It was also blowing as hard as Roar of the Fire Dragon and hit me in the face. Of course, I stumbled out of the window and the only thing that kept me from plummeting to a snowy-bloody-death was a hand that grabbed my ankle (thankfully I was wearing shorts!). Natsu yanked me up back inside, my hair and face were covered in snowflakes. "Thanks."
"You look like a yeti."
I shot him a piercing glare. He quickly straightened his posture and saluted, "Er, I mean, a cat. Um, I meant-"
"Just stop trying."
"Right."
I started icing the cake for Wendy's birthday. When I was finished (and Natsu had eaten most of the leftover icing), it had a chibi Grandine on the side and said, "Reach for the Skies, Wendy!" and a cloud-shape border. Natsu looked up from where he was eating cake batter off of a spatula and walked over to where the frosting bags were.
"Natsu, don't eat those, too!" I screamed, exasperated. But he just picked up a pink frosting and a yellow frosting and said, "It's not finished yet."
I stared at him, confused, as he took the pink icing and slowly and tediously wrote, "FROM NATSU." Then, he handed the yellow one to me and said, "Write 'and Lucy!" So that's what I did.
"Now it's finished," Natsu said, his eyes shining as he stepped back to admire the cake. I hugged his arm. "That was sweet. It does look very nice."
I set it on the counter and sat back in a chair, sighing. Natsu took a seat next to me, asking, "Tired?" I nodded slowly. "You can lean on me, if you want," he added, putting his arm around me. I gratefully laid my head in his lap like a pillow, whispering, "Thank you." One of the last things I remembered was Natsu laying me onto my bed, saying, "Goodnight, Lucy." He wrapped his scarf around my neck and laid down next to me. I breathed, "Sweet dreams," and kissed Natsu on the cheek. I had my eyes closed, but he made a cute sound of surprise because he didn't know I was still conscious. After a pause, he said, "Stay warm," and hugged me until I fell asleep.
I'll stay warm for you, Natsu.
