Hey guys... sorry for the delay in writing. I was inspired by We Are Scientist's song After Hours. Sorry for any mistakes in grammar or spelling. This was written at 2am. Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoy it.

It was close to midnight, and Derek was counting down the minutes, wishing this night would end. It wasn't as though it was a particularly bad night. In fact it was a great night, very few customers had come in. It was that he had to wait another hour before he could close the diner for the night. The other staff, including the chef, had gone home hours ago, but he was forced to stay. It was his punishment for running late last Saturday night, not that it was his fault. A sigh escaped Derek's lips as he looked around the empty diner. Shaking his head, Derek started to pack the diner up for the night. In the midst of mopping the floors, Derek heard the doors chime behind him. His shoulders slumped slightly at the prospect of another customer. So instead of serving the intruder, he continued with his task, mumbling that the diner was closed. The customer was not deterred. Instead, they moved further in, their heels clicking against the tiled floors. Derek started to turn, is voice resonating through the room, "I'm sorry, but we're closed for the evening…" He voice died that the sight of the person in front of him. "Casey?" His voice was barely a whisper, still shocked by the sight in front of him.

"Hi Derek." Derek was shaken out his revere at the sound of her voice. Leaning the mop against a table, Derek walking slowly towards her, his hand cupping Casey's face, testing to see if see was really there. At the feel of her skin under his, there was no denying Casey's return. Without so a much as a hesitation, Derek pulled Casey against him, smashing his lips against hers. Casey's was forced to cling to Derek, his heated kisses making her dizzy and her legs like jelly. She felt the tip of his tongue slip out, asking for permission to enter. Casey opened her mouth wider, meddling her tongue with his.

Derek broke away from her slowly, his heated kisses turning chaste, before he finally stopped and rested his forehead against hers, their heavy breath mingling with each other.

"God I've missed you Case." Derek's voice was soft, his voice breaking slightly with emotion. Casey, unable to formulate the words, enclosed her arms around his shoulders and buried her head into his neck. They stayed like that for a few minutes, before the chiming of the clock that was signalling that it was now 1 o'clock broke the moment. Derek broke away from Casey, his hand encasing hers. He then silently led her to the stools residing at the front of the diner. As she sat, Derek got a good look at Casey. She had changed while she was away in New York. Her hair had grown longer, dyed professionally to a dark espresso colour. The constant dancing had made her body toned, more so than it already was. She was beautiful, simply put.

"I am here to stay Derek, you don't have to worry okay. I'm back," Casey leant forward and grabbed Derek's hand once more. "I'm here." Derek face split into a small smile at those words. Lifting, his hand, he moved a piece of hair from Casey's face, pushing it back behind her ears.

"I know you're back." He leant in and kissed her softly. "Just don't leave me again okay, I don't know how I made it through the last year. I need you Space Case." Derek dragged his thumb across Casey's lips. "Time means nothing, just say that you'll stay. Forever."

Casey nodded, her voice quivering slightly as she spoke, "I'll stay. I love you too much to leave." Derek's split into a breath-taking smile.

"I love you too."
