Alec sat in a bar, alone, and he was miserable. He and Magnus had only broken up a week ago, and he hadn't told anyone yet. But Magnus had. Alec saw him with a woman in a café they had gone to frequently when they were together, and that had hurt. It had hurt deeply. That was the problem with Shadowhunters, when they fell in love, they fell hard and fast, and if something went wrong, they were left with permanently broken hearts, that even runes couldn't fix. Runes could only make them forget. But Alec didn't want to forget. He loved Magnus, still did, and he couldn't forget that. But Magnus didn't love him. Apart from what Camille had told him, he knew almost nothing of his ex's past. He was still thinking on this when a song began to play, that caught his attention.

Oh no, did I get too close? Oh, did I almost see what's really on the inside? All your insecurities All the dirty laundry Never made me blink one time

Unconditional, unconditionally I will love you unconditionally There is no fear now Let go and just be free I will love you unconditionally

Come just as you are to me Don't need apologies Know that you are worthy I'll take your bad days with your good Walk through the storm I would I do it all because I love you, I love you

Unconditional, unconditionally I will love you unconditionally There is no fear now Let go and just be free I will love you unconditionally

So open up your heart and just let it begin Open up your heart and just let it begin Open up your heart and just let it begin Open up your heart

Acceptance is the key to be To be truly free Will you do the same for me?

Unconditional, unconditionally I will love you unconditionally And there is no fear now Let go and just be free 'Cause I will love you unconditionally (oh yeah) I will love you (unconditionally) I will love you I will love you unconditionally

Hearing the song brought tears to Alec's eyes, and he wished that Magnus could hear this song. He wished that that night in the subway tunnels had just been a bad dream, and he wished that Magnus hadn't kept him at arms length. He wished that all of this could go away. All of a sudden, Alec knew what he needed to do. Leaving the bar, he pulled up his hood, not noticing the cat eyes that watched him go, and the man with the eyes that followed him didn't know what he'd done that would result in what happened next.

Two weeks later, the man with the cat eyes stood in a graveyard, dressed in a white suit, holding a black hoodie that had small holes all over it. A lone tear fell down his cheek, and whispered "Goodbye Alexander." He placed the hoodie in front of a memorial of black obsidian. Mortals passed it by, with no awareness that the memorial placed there even existed, because to them, it didn't. It was a beautiful memorial though. A solid block of obsidian sat on a plate of white marble. On the side, and gold lettering was a phrase, that fitted the person who the memorial was dedicated to. The cat-eyed man left, leaving the black hoodie behind. The only thing left was the golden words that rang through the silence.

But what were the words? The words were found in the room of the very person of whom the memorial was dedicated to, written on a piece of paper. The words were "Acceptance is the key to be truly free, Will you do the same for me?" And they fitted perfectly.

This song belongs to Katy Perry, and the characters belong to Cassandra Claire. I am neither, I just like fanfic-ing with their stuff, even though it was perfect from the beginning. Please review and tell me what you think. Luv from FictionLover007. Au Revoir!
