Bleeding angel
A boy looks upon the sunlit sky,
Kicking his legs as he sits upon the dried out grass.
His eyes are of the brightest blue,
Yet they are dull with pain.
Hair which should have rivalled the sun itself,
Has now turned a bleak yellow.
If anyone would care to look,
You would slowly see the light leave his eyes,
and the fake smile he wore, slip off his beautifully, heartbreaking face.
But nobody looks,
Nobody cares.
They curse him and hide their precious ones away from his monstrous gaze,
which would surely harm their young.
They never cared to look past the name he was given,
They never cared to take the time to know him,
They always took him for granted,
They never thought there would be a day he wasn't there.
And so as he takes out his saving grace,
The metallic glint barely seen in the hour of sundown,
He at last allowed a single tear to pass through his lifeless eyes.
Raising the wondrous object into the air,
He closed his eyes for the last time,
Those eyes of the brightest blue never to be seen again.
Crimson liquid spilt onto grass,
Surrounding the body of a lifeless being.
People finally stopped to look,
And as they gazed upon the one they had once deemed monster,
They cared, and they shed their tears for their lost sunshine.
It was a disheartening sight to see a boy who always smiled and never gave up,
lay on the unforgiving ground, shattered and dead.
It brought forth heart wrenching sobs that burned their chests,
and never ending tears that left their cheeks wet and stained from the suffocating guilt and regret they all felt.
But after some time they left,
and where they forgot so many others who had meant much more than him,
they never forgot their sunshine.
For there, lying on the ground covered in crimson blood,
laid what they should have seen all along but never cared to look.
It's face glowing in the last of the evening sun,
and two large, black, feathered appendages spread out across it's delicate back, soaked in it's life juice,
When once vibrant and alert are now limp and dull just like their owners eyes.
That boy would never be forgotten,
for he was no ordinary boy, nor any monster, no.
For covered in crimson blood,
lying on the unforgiving ground with two large, black, feathered appendages spread out across it's delicate back,
soaked in it's life juice,
when once vibrant and alert are now limp and dull just like their owners eyes,
laid an angel.
