A/N: Akkik is woken up in the middle of the night. Another pairing of characters, Akkik and Kala, from the fic Tides of Chaos by Ciloron.
Disclaimer: I do not own AtLA or Tides of Chaos or its characters.
Akkik lay on his side with his back to the door of his cabin, his large chest rising and falling as his mind remained blank. Akkik never dreamed. His nights were always empty, but he did wake up feeling rested, which was an excellent pay-off for a warrior.
But then there was a cool hand on his face. He opened his eyes slowly, before realizing he was in danger. He grabbed the hand by the wrist and flipped the person over so they were now in front of him, his other hand already holding the dagger he kept beneath his pillow under his attacker's throat.
"I didn't expect that reaction," the woman replied coolly, unafraid off the pointed metal on her soft flesh.
Akkik let out a deep breath before he released his grip on the woman's wrist and replaced the dagger. "Don't do that, Kala. You should never sneak up on a warrior when he's sleeping."
She pouted as he expected her to before she said, "I just wanted to surprise you."
"I don't like surprises," he said flatly.
"Well you should. It was going to be a good one," she said. Her pout disappeared as she gave him a soft smile. She reached her hand to his face again and brought him in for a soft kiss.
His eyes widened as he pushed her off him, "No, Kala, we can't do this. I've known you for years and you're my best friend. I can't take advantage of you like this."
The woman glared at him. "You're not taking advantage of me! I want this!" she defended.
"You think you do but it wouldn't be right for us to do something like this," he said as he rolled over and away from her piercing blue eyes.
He heard her huff behind him before she got out of the bed. She walked around him towards the door, her long black braid swishing behind her angrily as she opened and slammed it behind her without looking back.
She had been doing things like that every night and every night it was getting harder to resist her, harder to push her away. She was beautiful, no one could deny that, and she wanted him. He looked down at the rising problem within his legs. He couldn't deny that he wanted her too. He pulled down his trousers to attend to his 'problem'. Hopefully she wouldn't come back while he was still indecent.
