It had been one way her entire life.
She'd never allowed her emotions out, for fear of how she would destroy everything around her. When she was young, she was trained to control her powers. Now, she wasn't sure she needed to.
Her father had come, had claimed dominion over the entire world, and then she had defeated him. He had been the reason she meditated, the reason she withdrew from her friends. He had kept her from feeling everything.
But now he is gone.
She felt more freely. She understood the emotions of her friends, understanding the love that kept them together more tightly than friendship, though they had started out as mere acquaintances.
This is family.
She felt things she never dared to feel before, she felt happy simply when she was walking through the woods, she felt the emotions written inside her books, she felt exhilaration when she fought with her team, and she felt deeper peace from her meditations.
With her father gone, she felt everything far more acutely and acceptingly, though she didn't always show it.
She watches the sun set from the rooftop, smiling slightly. Her world was one without her father. Her world was finally one where she could sleep soundly, without worry of waking up one day and ending it.
A world where her friends, her family, could be safe.
And in that, Raven finally felt peace.
Please review, I need to know what I can and need to do better.

And to any who think this could be a good start to a story, I'm sorry. I really don't know how to continue it, and even if I did. It's a one-shot.
