"Look within yourself. What do you see?"
The lone girl stirred in here sleep, as she heard the cries and screams of many.
"Is your soul a fading light? Strengthened by fury?"
Finally awake, she tried to stand up but a great pain shot through her body. Her heart trembling knowing the implication of the screams.
"Hardened...by heat?"
She pounded the dirt furiously, believing that the destruction that was being caused was due to her failure.
"Search deeper now. What do you see?"
She felt angry, angry towards herself. Angry for not being good enough, angry for being weak.
"Whatever you find, you must keep."
Falling down to her knees in a attempt to stand up, the lone girl grasped her heart feeling disgusted with herself. Realizing that it wasn't just anger she felt but hatred, despair and a furious need for revenge.
"You cannot fear, what lies beneath."
Releasing a vicious scream, she allowed the world to know her pain. Her hair and eye functioning with different colors.
"Look within yourself. What do you see?" minutes passed by as if the flow of time stopped.
"I SEE A STUPID GIRL WHO WAS PRETENDING TO BE A HERO," the young crimsonette screamed as she brought down her fist down once more.
"I'M THE REASON WHY WEISS,BLAKE AND EVEN MY SISTER MIGHT BE DEAD!" the young girl closed her eyes, the feeling of shame and guilt overwhelming her being. "I'M THE REASON WHY SO MANY PEOPLE ARE DYING!"
A tender hand reached for the young crimsonette. Instantly she rose her head, curious as to who would show sympathy towards her. "W-who are you?" she said stuttering.
"Me?" the owner of the hand smiled, making the other girls heart flutter. "Im the light in the darkness" she said giggling.
The other girl couldn't help but join the stranger, "N-no, what's your name silly?" she said giggling.
"Mmmm… My friends call me Lux!" she said as she moved to hug the other girl. "What's yours?"
"I-its Ruby," she said accepting the hug, instantly melting into it..
"Thats a really nice name!" Lux said as she ran her fingers through Ruby's hair. "Tell me Ruby... what's the one thing you want the most?"
Separating herself from Lux, she looked into her eyes. "I want to save everyone… I want to be a hero, like from a fairytale" Ruby said, smiling a smile that oozed purity.
"Even If it means leaving behind everyone you care about it?" Lux said extending a hand towards the crimsonette.
Without a heasition, Ruby took the other girls hand. "I-if it means that they'll live happily ever after… I don't care what happens to me" she said as tears ran through her eyes.
"Close your eyes," Lux said, pulling Ruby into her. "Look within yourself…."
Ruby closed her eyes, listening to Lux's heartbeat. Her muscles relaxing with each second.
"What do you see?"
Hugging Lux tighter, Ruby took a sharp breath. "I-I see…"
"I see Hope!"
