Sometimes These Things Just Happen
Sheena cried out in pain as a sharp tree branch hit her in the face. She was running through the woods behind the Uchiha Manor in the dead of night. All because of her boyfriend-if only she had listened to Sasuke. A few months ago, Sheena and Itachi had started going steady. She was happy Itachi had been her first boyfriend. It all went wrong the day Sasuke (Itachi's younger brother) went and talked to Sheena. He told her that she should break up with Itachi and that he wasn't quite stable. That she should stay away from him, period. Sheena had just shrugged it off as jealousy. Now, though, she wished that she had never met Itachi, and that she had never laid eyes on him.
Sheena gasped as her foot caught on a rock jutting out of the ground, almost sending her face first on the ground. She tried to think of what went wrong with Itachi. She knew he hated his father. All he did was push Itachi into things he didn't want to do, but only because he was the eldest son of the Uchiha clan. Maybe that's what started this, though. Sheena leaned against a tree trying to catch her breath. The fear of being caught was building in her chest.
Itachi had been acting weird towards her in the last few weeks. He had been moody, angry about everything. When Sheena asked what was wrong he would get angry at her. She slid down the tree wrapping her arms around her legs. She guessed that sometimes these things just happen.
She stayed that way for a while when she heard a noise. It sounded like a twig snapping. Sheena all but stopped breathing, getting ready to bolt. "Sheena?" asked a boy's voice.
"Sasuke," cried Sheena in relief, running towards him.
"We have to go, my brother was right behind me," he said, grabbing her hand pulling her into a fast run. They ran for what seemed like an hour.
"Stop I need to rest," breathed Sheena, once again leaning against a tree for support.
"I think we lost him," Sasuke said, also leaning back. Then, they heard a loud voice behind them say "Found you."
Sheena whimpered and Sasuke demanded, "What do you want, Itachi?"
"Well first of all I would like my girlfriend back," the elder Uchiha said with a cruel smirk.
Sasuke growled and said, "Not going to happen." Itachi started walking towards them.
"It figures. You were quite jealous when I started going out with Sheena," said Itachi with a sneer.
"Run," Sasuke whispered to Sheena. She turned in the opposite direction and ran.
"Well, isn't that cute? My little brother wants to save my girlfriend," Itachi mocked.
"Shut up! what do you know?" Sasuke growled.
"Well…I know that you're not going to be able to save Sheena," Itachi replied. Sasuke looked at Itachi with a look of disbelief on his face when all of a sudden Itachi tackled Sasuke to the ground. "Lights out," said Itachi, punching Sasuke in the face. "Hmm, now where did she go?" Giving a smirk as his eyes passed over his bother's unconscious body, he ran in the same direction as Sheena.
Sheena kept on running. "I hope Sasuke is ok," she whispered. She stopped and looked around to see if anyone was there, and let out a breath of relief when her search turned up nothing. Leaning against a large rock, she finally started to relax. "I'm so tired," said murmured as she closed her eyes. A few minutes pass before she heard a familiar voice whisper in her ear, "I almost missed you."
Sasuke's eyes fluttered open "Sheena?" he croaked. "SHEENA! Oh my god," he cried, jumping up and starting to run, but he abruptly stopped as he heard Sheena's scream of terror ripple through the air…
