This will be my very first fanficiton ever,so I hope it isn't too cheesy or anything like that, but thank you for reading regardless of these things :3

Prussia's hand trembled slightly as he reached out for the doorknob. He shivered as his palm carefully encased the cold metal. He pushed the door open very slowly, as to not make any sudden noises in consideration for the other person in the room. America had been out from the meetings for the entire week due to a cold. Prussia thought it would be an awesome thing to go and pay the nation a visit. After all, if any sick nation saw his awesome self,of course they would feel much better! However, Prussia's timing wasn't the best that day, it seemed. America was sleeping quietly in his bed, his upper half uncovered from his blankets. His usually bright and cheerful face was paler than normal, and a slight reddish tint spread over his cheeks. His hair was messy, as was his blankets and covers. Prussia couldn't help but laugh a little at the sight.

"Hmm...been thrashing about,eh Alfred?", Prussia laughed as he pulled the blankets up again to cover the sleeping form. "You'll get worse if you're not kept warm, you know..."

Prussia sat on the side of the bed and took a quick survey of the room. The curtains had been drawn, leaving the inside shadowed in monotone colors. The air was cool and still, and all seemed quiet. He noticed someone had left a pitcher of water and a glass on the bedside table for America. There was also a photo frame placed near it,slightly angled towards America. Curiosity got the better of Prussia as he picked it up. A sight he should have expected by now met his eyes, but for some reason, it burned a hole in his chest.

It was just a simple picture of America and England. America had his arm draped around England's shoulders while England himself looked as if he was about to tip over from the added weight of America leaning on him.

It was something so simple...so familiar...but for some reason...

Prussia slammed the frame face down onto the table in anger. He jumped slightly at how loud of a noise it had made and turned to see if it had awoken America. To his relief, the nation just simply turned towards the window and settled down again. Prussia let out a sigh of relief.

Why the hell had he done that? Prussia cursed himself for letting his emotions take hold. It was just that...

He turned again to glance at America's face. Prussia's heart raced like it always had done, but a sharp pain also accompanied the feeling. Love was supposed to feel good, right? Then how come it always hurt whenever he felt these feelings? Prussia sighed to himself quietly. He already knew the answer. It was because America would never be his. Never. No matter how much time he spent with America, no matter how much he wished and yearned for them to be together, America would never be his...

After some time, Prussia placed the photo frame back up the way it had been when he entered and stood up to leave. He walked carefully, making sure not to awaken America. As Prussia was closing the door behind him, he turned over his shoulder.

"I love you...idiot..."

As Prussia closed the door quietly, he didn't notice America's face become redder, nor see his eyes grow wide in surprise.

"I...love you too..."
