A/N: so, as my birthday present to you (even though today, January 31st is my birthday) is a brand new Major Crimes fic! This is my first, so please be nice. Also, if you could review, that'd be awesome!
"I'm sorry, but I have to terminate the relationship. It is simply unacceptable for a captain of the LAPD to have a romantic relationship with her lieutenant."
Those were the words captain Raydor had been dreading for three weeks now. Those were the words that were bound to come one day.
This whole mess had started four weeks ago, to the day…
…
Sharon's day had started just like any other. A call about a dead body, an address, her and Rusty both scarfing down meals and getting themselves ready as fast as possible. Sharon was, as usual, ready first, but couldn't find her car keys anywhere. Rusty eventually found them abandoned on the granite countertop in the kitchen.
Thirty minutes later Rusty had been dropped off at St. Joseph's catholic school and Sharon had just parked in front of the abandoned warehouse. She carefully opened the car door and confidently placed one black high heel clad foot onto the pavement. With a loud clap, her door was shut.
Moments later, she strode into the grim and grey building. Upon seeing the victim, she knew she wouldn't be leaving early today.
"Hello, Captain." The always grumpy lieutenant Provenza greeted her. "So nice of you to finally grace us with your presence." Taking note of the look on her face, he decided that it would be wise to start with the briefing. "Our victim is a Caucasian male, about fifty years old. Cause of death is repeated blunt force trauma to… umm… Kendall! What's that fancy name you used for face again?"
The medical investigator just rolled his eyes at the old man's question.
"Whatever it is." Lieutenant Provenza said as he waved his hands in the air as if to admit defeat. "We're rolling the prints now."
…
Several hours later, Sharon couldn't remember exactly what time except that the sun was then setting, painting the sky a beautiful shade of fiery orange, Lieutenant Tao knocked on his boss' door. A quick nod from captain Raydor, and he entered the office.
"Captain," he said, choosing to remain standing instead of sitting in the chair across from her desk. "I have a hit on the prints. There was a match to a DUI on 2007.
"And who is our victim, Lieutenant?" The captain asked.
"Well, you see…" the lieutenant started.
"Before the end of the day, lieutenant." Sharon demanded, her face now wore a mask of annoyance.
"The victim's name is Jack Raydor."
A/N: I hope you likad the first chapter! Please give me a birthday present by leaving a review!
