This is sort of a drabble kind of more of a one-shot. This is what I thought should have happened when Serena goes to Darien's apartment to talk to him about the dream. I thought she walked away too easily from him.

Hope you like it,

Halo.

Serena Tsukino stood outside the green door of apartment 21, and wailed her fists against the hard door as she said his name over and over again. After two full minutes of her persistent, he finally opened the door. Her ex-boyfriend stood in front of her wearing a plain white v-neck t-shirt, black basketball shorts, and his normally up-kept black hair was disheveled.

"Do you have any idea of what time it is?" He asked blocking her from entering his apartment.

She was well aware of the fact it was two in the morning. She had walked two blocks to his apartment, dressed in her purple bunny pajamas, and pair of tan Moccasins. She had managed to pull her long blonde hair back into a pony-tail to look somewhat presentable.

"Yes, but I had to talk to you." She told him, and he reluctantly let her into his apartment.

His apartment had very few furniture, one couch, a flat screen TV, two chairs, a dinning table, a dresser, and a king sized bed. The only pictures he had hanging on the white walls were ones of his parents and when he was a young boy. She took a seat down on the red couch, and he had chosen to sit down on the black chair next to the couch separated only by a coffee table.

"What are you doing here?" He asked wondering why she had come to him at this hour. He had made it clear, there was no chance of them getting back together.

"I had a dream about us getting married...then I died," Serena paused as she wiped the few tears that had fallen down on her face. "It's the reason why you broke up with me, isn't it? You had the same dream, and you got scared-"

Darien interrupted her, "It's not only about the dream...I don't have those same feelings that you have for me." the lie easily fell off his lips.

Serena could feel her heart break at that very moment. He still didn't want her back. "Why do you still protect me as Sailor Moon if you don't love me?" She asked needing to know why he still protected her.

"Even though I don't love you, it is my duty to protect the Princess." Darien told her a false reason why, but it wasn't the reason Serena wanted to hear.

"I'm going to do you a favor," She said as she stood up and walked towards the door. "You don't have to protect me anymore. I will fight alone without the aid of Tuxedo Mask. I will not be a burden to you if you hate me so much-"

"I don't hate you." Darien said as he stood up and walked over to her.

"If you don't love me and if you don't hate me. Then what do you feel about me?" Serena asked.

"I car-"

Serena interrupted him before he could finish, "Don't you dare say you care, because if you cared about me, you wouldn't have let me feel all this pain. You wouldn't have messed with my heart." She reached for the doorknob, and had twisted it slowly in her right hand.

"Don't worry about me anymore, Darien. You can go back to your life before I came in and ruined it. I don't need you saving me anymore."

Darien stood there speechless as he watched the love of his life walk out of his life. He was only protecting her from dying, couldn't she see that? Everything he has done for her has been out of love, but now she is gone.

However he will keep protecting her no matter what she says, because he loves her not because it's his duty to do so.

One day they will be together again, and until that day he will continue to watch over her from a distant.
