Here's an idea I had in the back of my head and I just had to write a small drabble about it. Enjoy.

The wind was howling loudly around team RWBY as they stood side by side on the cliff hovering the Emerald forest. Their task today was fairly simple, get to the shrine and back up the cliff in one piece. Yang internally giggled, she and Blake had already did the same thing the day they got partnered up. Doing it together without anyone getting them in trouble seemed like a cakewalk.

Ozpin chose Blake and Yang to go first and so Ruby and Weiss stood aside.
There was a very heavy jaw drop coming from Yang when Ozpin pointedly told her to remove her precious Ember Celicas. She could see Blake embedding her Gambol Shroud in the ground next to the platform but Yang felt like arguing. How was she supposed to fight her way through Emerald forest without her precious gauntlets? She made a point to tell Ozpin just what she thought of his teaching methods.

She was so concentrated on her well thought out shouting that she did not notice professor Goodwich appear at her side and slapping her gauntlets away.

"Ouch!"

"Good luck B Y" smiled Ozpin, raising the mug to his lips.

"WAIT JUST A FUCKING MI-"

Yang's body was violently thrown forward and off the platform, effectively cutting her off mid sentence.

The brawler was falling fast towards the ground now. With no way to propel herself, she was going to crash into something and die probably. Frantically looking around her; she tried to find the best course of action. Focused on how she would save herself, she didn't notice Blake falling just behind her.

The Faunus was calmly waiting to fall closer to the trees in front of them to use her semblance and create an after image from mid-air to the top of the branch. Her ears twitched when Yang yelled suddenly. "I HAVE NO LANDING STRATEGY!"

Worried, Blake tried to help her partner.

"Just use your aura as a shield!"

"I can't do that!"

Blake dove towards Yang. She fully intended to grab a hold of the bigger girl to flip them over so that she could take the blow and use her own aura as the shield. But before she could reach Yang, the blonde let out a battle cry and dove towards a tree, her fist clenched and enveloped in flames.

"YEAH BABY!"

Yang tore through the massive trunk with her fist, breaking it in two and making the tree collapse in a storm of leaves. She actually managed to slow her momentum and landed roughly on her back.

Blake wasn't so lucky. Her original plan was to use her semblance and appear on that exact tree's branch, but now said tree was collapsing. She gasped and used her semblance on the falling trunk, managing to swiftly appear from a collapsing part to another. She saw the ground arriving too fast for her taste and braced herself for an impact.

"OOF!"

Blake groaned and pushed her hands to the ground, raising herself on all four and looking around her at the remains of the tree. They had, well... Yang had made such a mess.

"Not that I'm not enjoying myself, but maybe this is not a good time to pin me down kitten."

Blake's ears twitched under her bow and she glanced down, noticing she was hovering over a very battered looking Yang. She smirked and gave Yang a brief kiss before jumping to her feet next to Yang's head. "Anytime is a good time to pin you down Yang, but Ozpin might be watching right now."

Yang spluttered and rolled to her side, staring at Blake with rosy cheeks. The Faunus let out a small laugh and pushed her hair behind her shoulder. Yang clumsily got up and pouted at Blake who simply folded her arms and waited. Yang rubbed her lower back and pointed towards the cliff with her head. Blake's lips tugged to one side and she followed her teammate without saying another word.
