I felt his arms wrap around my waist from behind. I felt his lips brush lightly past my earlobe as he whispered in my ear. "Hello, Beautiful."
I blushed and leaned my head against his as he kissed my cheek. "Hi, Wesley."
He relinquished me and walked around in front of my lad table. "What are you working on?" he asked, facing me.
"Giant flesh eating cockroaches," I told him. "They're infesting some places 'downtown.' Knox and I are trying to determine a weakness so we can get rid of them."
Wes circled the table and come and stood at my side. "I have some books on them," he told me. "Did you know they mate for life?"
"I looked down at the huge dead insect. "So you mean he had a little buggy soul mate? That's sad. Poor bug."
He put his arm around my shoulder. "It's better to have loved and lost than to have never loved at all."
I turned to him and smiled, putting my arms around his neck. "But I like it like this," I said. "Lots of love, no loss." I laughed. "Mate for life." He smiled and we kissed.
I love the way he held me close when we kissed. He made me feel like a precious jewel, a goddess. I loved every moment of it. Every passing second.

I loved the way he loved me. He was strong and protected me from, Earth's evils, but he was soft and tender, too. He put his whole heart, all of his emotions out there for me. Completely absorbed in what he had. That's why I love him, because he loves me, that's why. The way everyone wants to be loved, I love the way he loves me.
