The only place Jacob could feel like he was truly alone was in his garage. Heck, more often than not he couldn't even be alone inside his own head. Music blared from the old stereo in his Rabbit:
I wish I were the sun shining on your face - caressing like a
lover
I would wrap you in a warm embrace - we'd be holdin' one
another
I'm jealous of the sun
He let his head rest in his huge hands, sighing heavily. His eyes scrunched tight as the music filled his ears.
I don't wanna share you with nothing else
I gotta have you to myself
I can't help it - I'm so in love
I
just can't get you close enough
Soon, the rising and falling of his chest became sobs. Shaggy brown hair covered his eyes, acting like a curtain to block out the rest of the world.
Oh, it's seems so unfair
when the moon's in your eyes
you
seem to light up the skies
and I realize
I'm even jealous of
the moon
The last chords of the song sent salty tears rolling down his cheeks. He ground his teeth, half out of sadness, and half out of anger at himself.
"Look, Bella," he said quietly into the ringing silence of his garage. "Real tears."
