Cue Sparkles~
Pale skin against tan skin. Light hair next to dark. Black eyes staring into blue eyes.
Total opposites they were, Angeal and Eris. He was assertive but kind-hearted. She was demanding but distant.
No one had ever thought their marriage would last. He worked long hours while she sat in their cheap little apartment by herself. "She'll get lonely and leave him for someone who will pay her more attention," people said. They were wrong though. She could care less about attention. Perhaps all she wanted was a name for herself; After all, she grew up in the Midgar slums with nothing but the clothes on her back.
Eris was perfectly comfortable being by herself most of the time. She preferred to sit at a worn table and write until her hand went numb. When he came home, an affectionate hug or kiss might be shared before they would both drift off into sleep. She always waited for him to come home.
Eris knew something was wrong with Angeal. But he pretended like nothing was wrong and she didn't pry. He didn't ask her why she dressed in dark clothing, wrote lyrics all day, and kept to herself, so why should she?
He kept coming home though.
But one night, he had something with him. A black feline with eyes "the color of the Banora sky" was the new addition to their family. Mrs. Hewley named her Angel.
The next night he didn't come home. She waited for him anyways. It was the same the next night. But Angeal did not come. Angel mewed at her feet, but Eris did nothing but sit in the chair she always sat in and waited.
He never came back. Eris waited still.
She knew what happened after a week. So Eris didn't wait anymore. She and Angel left the apartment with nothing.
Her body was found a day later. The authorities couldn't find the cat.
"No one really understood how much she loved him. But she loved him so much that when he was gone, she had nothing left to live for."
That is the tragic life of the bride of a SOLDIER.
Tragic and dark…I was surprised when this popped out of my head. Oh well. This is for the AngealXOC challenge. Because Angeal needs more love. Also number 9/50 for the 50/50 Dictionary Challenge. The word was discord and Eris is the Greek Goddess of discord so…
