Hmph. It wasn't like Cloud had asked to find him in the first place. The blonde had only been minding his own business, delivering something to Kalm, when he'd found the Remnant lying on the side of the road. Curse the random moment of kindness mentality. Now the chocobo-haired blonde had to worry about what Kadaj would do the moment he got up. Like resting on the back of Cloud's Finrir was very comfortable. Oh well, not like he could just dump him back where he found him. That wouldn't have been very nice of Cloud to do anyway.

So he didn't go back to Edge, but rather started off in the direction of Midgar, hoping that Kadaj would not choose now to wake up. The last thing Cloud needed was a sword in his back on top of everything else that had gone wrong today.

"Brother…" Kadaj murmured, snoring softly.

When he was sleeping, he didn't seem so dangerous. Cloud had to wonder exactly how many people had died due to thinking just that. But then again, Kadaj had an almost… childish innocence. It would be at least an hour before they'd make it to Midgar, even going as fast as a wary Cloud edged the bike to go, so Cloud had time enough to gather that the sleeping Remnant thought that he was either Yazoo or Loz. So maybe no death in a flash of silver and crimson just yet.

Luckily, they made it to Midgar without incident, and Cloud brought Finrir to a stop in front of Aerith's church. There was a cot in the back room there, so Kadaj would have a place to sleep at the very least. Cloud planned to leave him there though, it probably wouldn't be a very good idea for the blonde to stay around. Putting down the brake of his bike, Cloud carefully picked up Kadaj and walked into the church.

As Cloud entered the church Kadaj stirred slightly, half-whispering "Brother?" Wait, that wasn't Yazoo, and definitely not Loz. Who then?

Cloud pretended not to hear Kadaj's voice, hoping to avoid confrontation for now at least. It was not to be though, even as Cloud went to put Kadaj down, the Remnant realized who it was that had brought him here and grabbed Cloud's arm as the elder turned away.

Uh-oh, this didn't bode well.

Cloud turned around, expecting to find a blade to his throat; instead he got something he'd never expected. Kadaj's lips claimed his own, Kadaj transferring his grip from Cloud's arm to the back of his neck in order to keep the blonde from getting away. It was an unprovoked attack, but not with a sword with a kiss that broke down Cloud's resistance in the simple tenderness in held. It was a kiss of desperation, one that told Cloud that there was little to nothing Kadaj found attractive about him, that told him that it was only because Kadaj needed the companionship that Cloud had offered however reluctantly.

An hour later, with Kadaj asleep snuggled close to him, Cloud decided that desperation was fine with him.
