Puppies
Kakashi Hatake loved puppies. And it was no surprise, his clan using nin-dogs for years. He saw dogs all the time, whether they were training or just hanging around the house. But 4-year old Kakashi was far too young to be using the summoning jutsu, at least which was what his father thought. All young Kakashi wanted to have was a puppy of his very own to play with. He could just imagine it now, a small companion to accompany him through all his adventures. And how all the other kids would be jealous of his dog.
Kakashi smiled on the back porch. He jumped up form his thinking spot and dashed into the kitchen where his father, Sakumo was currently having a sup of tea. "Daaaaaad!" Kakashi called out, skidding to a halt in front of the White Fang.
"What is it Kakashi?" sighed Sakumo. He groaned inwardly; the only time. "Kakashi yelled was when he wanted something. Other times he would be passive…well, as passive as a 4-year old can come.
"Dad, can I have a dog?" Kakashi asked, crawling into his father's lap. Sakumo raised an eyebrow.
"A dog?" Sakumo replied. "But we have lots of dogs Kakashi."
"Yeah, but those are your dogs dad, and they're for work!" Kakashi pouted as cute as he could manage. "I want a puppy to be my friend and to play with me!"
"Kakashi, howa bout when you join the Academy? That way you two can train together!" Sakumo suggested.
"It's always about training…" Kakashi looked down at his hands, tears threatening to overflow.
Sakumo sighed; he never liked it when his son was like this. "Hmm. What about if I make you a deal?" Kakashi's eyes lit up. "If you can pay for a dog, I'll let you have one."
"Really?!" Kakashi squealed. "Oh thank you Daddy, thank you!" He jumped off Sakumo's lap and ran down the hall into his room. Sakumo smiled at his innocence and happiness.
There was a silence, when Sakumo thought it was safe to take a sip of his cooling tea. Until… "DAAAAD?!" His son literally screamed from his room.
"Yes Kakashi?"
"Is 2 dollars and 64 cents enough for a puppy?"
Oh no…
God I love this story :D. I wrote it in Newfoundland last summer but never had enough time to fix it and put it up. Hope you enjoyed.
