This is according to the manga, not the anime, so both stories are very different! Please read the manga, and then you'll know what I'm talking about!
Kai: ARGH! Another warm day…even though it's autumn! Good thing I packed in some cold ramune soda along with my lunch…wonder what dad cooked today, huh, Riku..?
Riku: yea! It's been so long since we've met, so I kinda crave for dad's cooking! That reminds me. I taught Shal how to speak some Japanese! But he still has the habit of talking like a toddler…
Shal: ahh--?
Riku: Get what I mean..? Oh, we've reached the crypt!
Kai's gaze landed on the tomb which Saya, his dear sister was currently hibernating in. Riku observed his brother closely, seeing how Kai's look softened once it had landed on the tomb. He giggled out loud by accident, which made Shal and Kai look at him in bewilderment.
Shal: Riku..?
Riku: eh, nothing. Let's have lunch under that tree, it'll provide us with some excellent shade from the blaring heat from the sun!
Shal: ahh…lunch! Lunch! Lunch! *jump jump*
It has been 6 years since Saya went into hibernation. Every other day, when the weather was good and sunny, Kai would visit Saya in her tomb. On some special occasions, he would have some company to brighten up the atmosphere for the visit. For example, his dad, the Red Shield, his friends or even Solomon with Van. Actually, the atmosphere kinda varies on the company he was traveling with…
Riku: why aren't you eating, Shal..?
Shal: ahh…*staring at Kai's arm* can I..? Riku?
Kai:…anyway, that reminds me. How's the cleaning up of the Chiropteras coming along?
Riku: they're quite large in number, and scattered throughout the world. Even finishing up half of this particular mission wouldn't exactly be a walk in the park…say, has Hagi been to visit Saya often?
Kai: ahh…that guy…*sigh*…he never drops by to say hello, never stays around for a chat, never comes up to me to ask how everyone's doing. He drives me up the wall!…but yea, he visits Saya very often. But you don't see him at all, just a blue rose with a ribbon tied at its stem. Isn't that infuriating?! Argh, I swear, if I see him--
Riku: hey Kai, is Saya really going to wake up only thirty years later..? Wouldn't the people around her change drastically? Some might even pass on, or she might not even remember us…I wouldn't like that, Kai. Would you?
Riku's innocent question caught him off guard. He hadn't really thought about this matter, and so, couldn't even answer Riku with a 'yes' or 'no'.
Kai:…I don't know, Riku. I don't think I'd like it at all…but at least she has you and Hagi, right..? You'll remind her of us, won't you? And everything that happen when she was with us…
Riku ruffled Shal's hair, a welcome breeze rustling the leaves, a display of a multitude of colors as the leaves fell to the ground.
Riku: yea, I sure would. I'm sure Hagi would too.
