Sebastian stumbled out of the bar and almost pitched over the railing that ran along the stairs leading to the flats above. A cab drove by, pulling off at the end of the street to pick up a man waiting on the corner. He collected himself and began the all to familiar walk back to his loft. Once he had passed a cafe he frequented on Westminster street he heard a distant muffled yelp. Couldn't be more than a mile or two He thought to himself.
The rush of wind spun up a few pieces of litter as he disappeared in a blur of motion. He followed the sound of a woman's voice to an alley adjacent to a bus stop. As he entered the alley he saw a woman in her early twenty's huddled on the ground clutching her purse as a man in a red hooded sweatshirt tore at it trying to pry it from her fingers.
"Am I interrupting something here?" he said to get the thief's attention. The woman's head snapped over to look at him, as she did she let go of the purse and it was ripped away from her scattering the contents on the ground. The man stood up and turn towards him but did not approach.
"As a matter of fact you are. This don't concern you, now bugger off before you get hurt." The thief said.
"You see, it does concern me because little punks like you put me in a very violent mood", Sebastian replied. The man reached into the stomach pocket of his sweatshirt and pulled out a gun.
"I said leave", the man said as he pointed the gun at his chest.
" That would be a very big mistake" Sebastian growled.
The gunshot rang out across the alley walls. The bullet hit Sebastian in the right shoulder and he barely flinched. Frozen in terror the man dropped the gun and it clattered on the concrete. Sebastian grabbed a piece of rebar off the ground and broke off a piece. The shard of rebar came off with a particularly jagged edge.
"This was a tailor made Italian leather jacket, and now it has a hole in it, it is quite literally worth your life. I intend on collecting promptly" Sebastian hissed as he balanced the makeshift throwing knife in his palm.
"What the hell are you?" the man whimpered. Sebastian grinned as menacingly as he was able.
"A living nightmare mate" he said immediately before he launched the rebar through the mans trachea.
Sebastian leaned down and looked into the woman's eyes and told her to forget the incident and to go somewhere safe. She began to collect her things and left. As he was about to leave a man stepped into the mouth of the alley.
"Still playing the hero Sebastian?" the man said. The voice was recognizable in every corner of his mind.
"Klaus, it's been a while since we met up, even longer since it was in a dark alley" he mused.
"I've been occupied as of late, but things have become a little bit boring as of late so I felt a good round of debauchery with an old friend was in order. Besides I've been wanting to get back to London for far too long now." Klaus replied.
"Well then, you've come to the right place" he said as a smile slowly spread across his face.
