hello, this is my first story and I'm sorry for any grammar mistakes! T-T but please enjoy!

I turn down an ally and almost ran into two boys, one with jet black hair and the darkest blue eyes she has ever seen and the other one with all silver hair and eyes but looks young, they look to be her age. She only stops for a second and then pushes past them. She hears one whisper to the other about how rude she was but she couldn't care less the aunts had cot up to her and she felt their ice chains rap around her arms and pull her back. I scream at the top of my lungs, "HELP ME!" I knew mundanes couldn't hear me but to my surprise the chains broke and I turned around to see the two boys using half change magic.

My aunts scream in frustration, the dark hair boy runs at one of my aunts, aunt black, and stabs her in the heart. Knowing I should scream or cry at that but instead I actually feel a bit happy about it. the other whispers a spell I've heard before about summoning an angel to help he takes the blade now shining with the angels might and slices off her head I gasp in surprise. Both their bodies begin to shrink until there's nothing left of either one. "A-are you o-okay?" I ask in a quiet voice. the two boys turn around and stare at me then they look at each other confused.

"you can see us?" the light haired one asks finally. why wouldn't I see them? I mean they just saved me, I think to myself.

"well of course I can see you," I respond to him, God these people are weird. the two boys turn to each other and start to talk about something that I can't hear from the distance between us. after what felt like ages they finally turn and look at me, the dark haired boy shrugs and whispers something into the other boy's ear.

"hello, miss, my name is James Carstairs but every one calls me Jem and this is," the light haired boy, Jem tells me an points at his friend, "Willam Herondale but call him Will. also what might your name be?" jem asks.

I hold my head up high and introduce myself, "my name is Theresa grey but most people call me Tessa."

what shocks me the most next is the dark haired one, Will says, "what was your relationship with the two who were chasing you?" his voice deep.

"they were my aunts," I respond to him. they look at each other with shocked expressions. I quickly explain what they did to me the past two years, the torture, how they starved me once for refusing to change with magic, and how they now wanted to sell me to some guy by the name of the magister.

they give a quick glance at each other and smile, "would you like to come live with us at our home?" they ask together. Jem must have seen my face after thinking of living with two guys and says, "we live in an orphanage."

I smile at that thinking I have nowhere else I can go, " yes. I would love that," I say.

"welcome to the London institute!" Will says and smiles.
