The weather was nice as the two dragons landed in the Plaza. Their riders, after much groaning of the long flight, finally set foot on land again. Hiccup slowly took his helmet off, staring at the horizon as the sun started to set.

"What's wrong?"

Astrid was looking in the same direction as his boyfriend, trying to find what distracted the young man from their discussion.

"Ships."

Now she saw them - small dots moving closer in the distance. They had grey masts and the hulls seemed to be painted black, fitted with spikes and chains. Hiccup turned around and gestured towards his companion.

"Toothless, sound the alarm."

The Night Fury got on his back feet and let out a shrieking howl, followed by two plasma bolts shot into the air. The villagers started gathering around the Plaza, some of them confused and scared.

"Astrid, take the Riders and set up a perimeter around Berk." Hiccup turned to the girl, who was still confused over the incoming ships. "Do not engage until I tell you so."

"Okay." Astrid said, mounting on Stormfly. "Be careful."

"I will."

As the Nadder took off, Hiccup started ordering the men around, setting up defenses and preparing for the attack. Catapults, gas cylinders and even Gobber's crude-but-working flamethrower was ready to welcome whoever may intrude Berk and its inhabitants. All they could do after is waiting.

The night sky was already full of stars when the ships beached. Huge men in iron and steel armor started jumping out, swarming the coast, getting closer to the defences. The young chief realised that his men were not just outarmed but outnumbered as well, counting the dragons. Roars and screams came and filled the air around them - planting fear in many hearts. Riders or not; these raiders seemed to wear armor thick enough to stop a shot of a Grunkle or even Toothless.

Then, Hiccup saw the worst thing that may walk the world.

The screams increased in volume, but the enemy did not come closer. For a few second, the inhabitants of Berk wondered where the noise might come from until they turned their heads to the sky. A clout of three dragons were flying towards them, all painted yellow, from feet to head, including their riders. They crashed into earth, their owners jumping off as their mounts met the ground.

"WHAT THE ODIN OF A FUDGED LANDING WAS THAT?!"

"SHUT YOUR FISHCRACKER UP, YOU THOR-FORSAKEN PIECE OF A HORSE'S BACKSIDE!"

"WHAT DID YOU JUST CALL ME, YOU LOKI-FACED SON OF A SHIELDMAIDEN?!"

The people of Berk did not move. They did not dare to. The enemy raiders were already moving towards their defence line. The yellow men clashed their heads together, and shouted "ANGRY RAIDERS - WITH MIDDLE FINGERS!" while running towards the lines of intruders.

An hour and a half of fighting, screams of pain and chaos later the ships sailed back, leaving a mostly intact Berk and piles of dead raiders behind. Hiccup, Astrid, Snotlout, Fishlegs, Valka, Ruff and Tuff watched frozen as the yellow-painted warriors got onto their mounts and took off.

"What the Thor's love were these?" asked Astrid as they looked at the bodies of the intruders.

"I don't know, and I don't want to know." answered Hiccup
