Silence From The Abyss

Chapter 1-Premonitions

"Man! World History is so boring!" exclaimed Micah, my pervy friend, at lunch. I chuckled. I couldn't help it. He'd been like this ever since he found out Taylor had a boyfriend. (A/N: Taylor is a girl)

He started arguing with Chelsea, my other friend, while I started contemplating my love-life. I wasn't that popular, although widely known as 'Harry Potter'. Grrr. I hated that nickname. I had a slim to none chance of getting a girl at school, unlike Micah, who Chelsea had grudgingly admitted to wanting to get intimate with him a week ago.

I mean there was this girl I liked in Teen Troupe but I had horrible nervousness when it came to girls. I was a hopeless wreck. Maybe I'd be alone for the rest of my...

Micah poked me in the forehead. I snapped out of my reviver. I was a bit unfocused but just enough so that I couldn't look at anything in particular. "Chelsea and I have an announcement to make," Micah said. I rolled my eyes at nothing. He continued, "Chelsea and I have talked it over and...we've decided to date."

My eyes snapped into focus long enough to register the fact that they were holding hands under the table. They slid out just as fast.

"Well? Are you happy for us?"

"Yeah, yeah. Sure."

"You don't sound like it."

"Huh? What? Sorry, I'm not listening. May I take a message?"

That got me a whap to the back of the head. "Well what do you expect of me? Being minister at the wedding?" I got some giggles. (A/N: I'm atheist so this is a joke.)

The bell rang so I grabbed my stuff and headed to my Computer Applications class. I managed to get through my assignments alright, but I was constantly drifting in a sea of thoughts. I jumped when the bell rang. I logged out and grabbed my stuff. Right then I got conflicting feelings.

The feeling that something wonderful would happen to me.

And the feeling that something horrible was about to strike.
