Here's a little oneshot I wrote for Hinata and Ino.
It's been sitting in my computer gathering dust for over a year.

I hope you like it!

Disclaimer: Yeah, I don't own the characters.

She dives into the frothy, white-capped ocean, no fear – with her there was never any fear. Long blonde hair flowing down her back, now floating around her on the waves, golden ribbon shimmering with the light. She's so perfect. I wish I could be like her, so gorgeous, so vibrant and bold, able to outshine the sun.

She kicks, water splashing behind her as she swims farther out. She laughs at the taste of saltwater in her mouth, her voice clear and strong, unafraid of anyone's thought or remarks. She's always been so independent. Right now, it seems like it's just her and the ocean.

The water laps against my legs, the sand still warm beneath my toes when the wave recedes. People are watching her. How could they not? She could be mistaken for a mermaid, she's a great swimmer, and you can tell when you look at her that she really loves the ocean. She doesn't care about the attention, though she attracts it everywhere she goes.

I wish I could be out there with her, but she's so far away from me. She's bright and glorious, perfect while I'm nowhere near. I'm afraid of so many things, I could never be on the same level as her. I don't know why she even notices me. When she's around no one notices me, or anyone else for that matter. It's like a firefly being compared to the sun. The firefly may shine but when the sun rises, no one can see it's light.

I'm watching her. She's still standing off by the shore, her toes buried in the sand. She looks so serene, standing there and watching the waves, her raven black hair floating gently in the sea breeze, her arms crossed over her chest self-consciously. She's so Perfect. I wish I could be with her. She's so beautiful, so gentle and soft, sweet and feminine. She's more graceful than any flower.

She stutters and tries to keep herself hidden, she apologizes for things that aren't her fault and her smile dazzles me and everyone else who sees it. She has no idea how wonderful she is. At first she's shy and quiet but when you get her to open up she'll surprise you. She's smart and graceful and when she dances it's like the entire world holds it's breath for her. She makes my heart race. I think I love her.

It's so silly, she has no idea. No idea how refreshing she is, so tranquil, elegant, adorable. She has a heart made of gold, she's the sweetest person I know. She's sensitive but she's strong when she needs to be.

Sometimes she scares me. She's reckless with her own safety, caring more about the safety of others. I worry but it's part of why I love her. She's watching me now, so I decide to wave calling out to her to join me in the water. She timidly waves back and I hold my breath, watching her walk slowly into the waves, the gentle sway of her hips hypnotizing me. She smiles and I run up to her, my legs splashing the water, making her shriek with excitement.
"Ino, it's c-cold!" she said, rubbing her arms with her hands. I grin splashing her with more water. She retaliates, splashing me back.

"I'll get you back Hinata!" I yell. We both splash until she is soaked and my eyes sting from the salt. We laugh and I reach out and grab her hand, pulling her further into the sea. Maybe I can just keep this feeling for a little longer.

Author Notes: I do plan to add more of these little things as I write them.
