"Ya'll can't stop now, its getting dark, she can't be out there all alone!"

Carols chin quivered as she pushed the words out, pleading for them to keep looking for Sophia.
Rick was getting impatient.

"I understand your concern.. but we can't risk another life out there. We'll pick up the trail tomorrow".

Carol shook her head and walked back to the RV.
She couldn't live like this anymore. She didn't know what to do.

She felt hopeless more than anything.
Sitting on the small cot Carol let her tears fall as she curled up and let herself go.

Suddenly she looked up when she heard foot steps. She straightened up, wiping her cheeks.

"Ey.. Im gon' stay out. Look for Sophia..." Daryl nodded, his tone softening when he saw her tear stained cheeks.

Carol just nodded back and looked out the window.

"Were gonna find 'er. She's gotta be close, can't wonder too far..." His voice trailed off. "She woulda reached the highway in no time.."

Carol looked back at him.

Why was he sticking up for her? Nobody cared about her anymore. Ed was gone, and so was Sophia.
She didn't deserve his words.

"Thank you.." It almost came out like a squeak. She nodded trying to believe everything he was telling her.

He pursed his lips, and turned to leave.

"Im comin'."
"Wha?"

"I.. I'm comin', I'm gonna look for Sophia. Its only right..." She stood up and put her jacket on.
"She deserves better than this... ya'll can't stop lookin..." She started gathering her supplies angrily.
"I can't believe Rick is doing this.. Return tomorrow... its too dark... " She shook her head, the tears coming again.
"Thats my little girl! Shes only 12!" She sobbed and sat down on the cot again.

Daryl wasn't good at this feelings stuff. He sighed and sat down next to her.
"I know how ya feel.."
"Like hell you do!" She frowned at him.
"Like hell I DO!" He raised his voice.
"Shit, Merle ain't back and Im bustin' my ass lookin' for someone elses kid! Can't ya'll 'ppreciate nothin'?!"

Carol winced. She had gone to far.
"I'm sorry.." She stood up and walked out of the RV, wiping her tears.

Rick met her outside.
"Whats going on?" He looked from Carol to Daryl who had come out of the RV, adjusting his bow.

"Lookin' for the girl. Ain't nobody else gon' do it." Daryl stomped past Rick muttering under his breath. "Fuckin' stupid".

"And you?" Rick raised a brow at Carol. "You goin' too?"

Carol just nodded and went after Daryl.

"I don't think thats safe Carol."
Carol turned to look at Rick furiously. "You're goddam right it isn't. Shes only 12 years old".
