This was certainly the most spur-of-the-moment piece I've ever put up here. It's only about four, maybe five hours old, at the most. Sort of a character study, I guess. I was trying to get my creative juices flowing so I could work on some of my other in-progress fics, and here's the result. Enjoy!

Author's Note: This was inspired by a few lines from "Adamant Gentleness" by Kitt Chaos, and so is dedicated to that amazing fanfic writer.

Window to His Soul

It was the eyes people noticed, he knew. Always the eyes. Gemini orbs of azure, gleaming with the paradox of icy flames.

But eyes only looked. They watched, observed, absorbed – and quite necessarily – but all the same, they were passive beings.

Hands, however, did.

And that was what made them the instruments of Seto's passion. Passion from the eyes was expelled and then dispersed – it was abstract. Passion through the hands, in contrast, was concrete control – real and palpable power.

It was his hands that shaped his destiny. It was his hands that manipulated KaibaCorp's computer systems, that brought mere cards into holographic reality, that gently stroked his brother's hair as he slept.

Eyes were helpless. Eyes were a two-way street to nowhere.

But hands had the ability to create, to alter, to influence. The ability to form tangible demonstrations of a viewpoint. The ability to offer a genuine threat, and the ability to follow through with it should the need arise.

His eyes – the eyes of the Blue-Eyes White Dragon, the eyes of their shared, indomitable spirit.

But Seto Kaiba's hands were the true window to his soul.

*Kaiba hand gesture combined with Jedi mind trick* You will review! (At least I hope you will.) May the Force be with you.
