Hiei walked sullenly through the forest. His head was hung low and his eyes were shut tight. His feet padded through the all too familiar ground.
Doesn't anybody stay in one place anymore?
He didn't even have to raise his head to turn onto the smaller, quieter trail. As soon as he entered it, the world seemed to hush, leaving a peaceful, sad silence.
It will be so fine to see your face at my door
His steps became slower, and more forceful. His blood red eyes opened to look upon the tranquil resting place.
And it doesn't help to know that your just time away
His eyes traveled over the tree, the flowers, and the headstone. He walked up and touched the letters, tracing them with his fingertips.

His fingers stopped at those words. He couldn't bring himself think of her. His eyes were heavy with tears that would be shed.

He sat down right in front of the marker. He leaned his head against it and breathed out. A tear fell. A tear for her.

The black tear gem fell to the ground. As it hit the earth, the ground itself seemed to die, leaving a shadow of its forself. The fire demon huddled up against the cold stone, trying to seek comfort.
Traveling around sure gets me down and lonely
He was finally alone. After all of the rekai tantei had died, only Yukina had remained. Botan still worked in rekai, but she had no reason to come to the ningenkai. After Yukina had left, he was truly alone.
Nothing else to do but close my mind
And I sure hope the road don't get to own me
Kuwabara had died first. Yukina had been heartbroken, but she had kept going. She had loved him, and he had loved her. Their child lived with its mother until it grew old enough to live on its own.
There's so many dreams that I've yet to find

Then Kurama had died. Hiei wanted to go with him, but Yukina would not allow it. He had gone to Kurama's funeral, and had said goodbye to his dear friend.

Then Yusuke. He had died in his sleep. No one knew why, but it was suspected that after his son had been killed on a mission, he had been waiting for his chance to hop the boat.

Now it was just Hiei. He was alone, and he wanted to go. He wanted to leave and join his mother and sister. His friends.
And it doesn't help to know

He stared at the tear gem on the ground. It was black, but in the light, it shown blood red.
